you may be able to answer a question for me (or any MG16 owners out there)

The muffler on mine leaks fuel/oil from the screw in the end. what is this screw for? can I threadlock this thing without screwing up the muffler?

it is what holds the muffler pieces together. Try tightening it first. I am fearful of using thread lock on it as you may never be able to get it off. I used RTV on mine when i modded mine.

get a new muffler. I think the stock one totally held back power., get the flex pipe and a stinger muffler, it'll scream if you get a good one that suits it!

So would you say something like this? [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTAC7&P=7]CEN Racing Aluminum Tuned Pipe Black [/link]
How do I work out if they will work well with the engine or not? is there some way to tell?

Heres a pic of my latest buys :

Those things on the Buggy Champ may look like shock absorbers, but believe me, they are not, they are springs. The bit in the middle is just for show [&o]

I cant believe what a good deal you get here in Australia from Toyworld on the MG16, AU$300 brand new, you get the Car, 1.25 Litres of Fuel, 12 Venom AA batteries and a Starter Pack!

EDIT

Did you guys get an Allan key fit the Battery Box on the MG16? Mine came with one, but it was for the engine mounts. I dont know if its SUPPOSED to come with a second one not, but if you buy one of these, make sure you have a set of these! I didnt have my allen keys unpacked, and it took me AGES to get into that battery pack LOL

ohh man that buggy is SWEEEEET!!!!!!! love the picture!!

I always had trouble with the whole exhaust issue on the MG 16... i have tried a few different things...I just went and bought a couple used stinger pipes from my local hobby shop and worked with them. I had to cut them in half and re-attatch them to make them fit. I had the...180 degree? manifold so the pipe would rest between the two wheels. the picture of it is like the second or third page in this thread, the pipe was blue...BUT anyways i gutted it out and custom made a pipe mount. I dont know i guess its all about experimentation, you gotta find out what will work the best! I finally sold my MG a couple months ago...i do miss it but i love what i have now its a RD LOGICS wolverine, its HUUUUGGGEEE, i love the big trucks - even tho i have it on ebay right now.

Thats sweet!

ebay link?

I have a Sportmaxx (2wd T-Maxx) its currently broken, I chased it down the road in my brothers Ute doing 60kp/h for about 5 minutes. engine siezed up when I pulled into the drive and let the throttle up
Loved the truck, hated the TRX 2.5 this CEN engine is awesomely easy to tune, I hardly had to change it from factory.

*figured out how to do the thumbnail thing

yeah the MG16 is lonnngg gone, I think i sold it for around 95 dollars on ebay unfortunately..... it sucked i miss it, but its all good. since my huge monster truck didnt sell (I had the reserve for 270.00) i think i'll keep playin with that for a while. I really really want to get a 1/16th scale electric truck..such as the mini LST2 or something and put a wicked fast brushless motor in it have you heard any other good 1/16th scale electric trucks? Team Losi has this 1/18th scale rock crawler, it is sweeeeeet, but its like 250 bucks brand new (ouch)

check it
its pretty sweet, i think its gonna be my next toy

i have an MG16 that i bought a couple months ago... haven't had any time to get it running though. was supposed to work great. but i gave myself blisters with the pull start. then i moved. now i have the roto back plate for it but i haven't installed it. i am ready to get it running b/c it looks like a lot of fun with lots of room to mod. we'll see how it goes this weekend perhaps...

got the roto plate for it installed. that thing just refuses to run. and the LSN is in the absolute worst position. i can barely access it b/c the exhaust is in the way. does any one have any suggestions about getting to the LSN? or do you just have to tough it out?

hey guys. this is my first post. i'm new to the whole nitro rc scene. about 2 weeks ago i purchased my first nitro (hpi firestorm). and just yesterday i got my mg16 delivered. i totally have fallen in love with this little monster. i have not driven it and dont intend to for a pretty long time. i intend on buying every hop up there is for it, including the nx18 engine. and i hope more options are in the process of coming out. i already have 400 dollar wish list at tower hobbies for some cen hop ups and some odds and ends. i probably will ultimately buy another mg16 for bashing around and the one i got now will be my long term project. i've been seeing some nice custom work being done to these mini monsters and it all looks great. i've even been contemplating on taking some parts to a machine shop so they can machine them out of aluminum. thats probably gonna be costy. i've read every post on here that relates to the mg16 (as far as i know). most of the parts i'm going to buy are cen parts, but are there any other manufacturers that make parts for them? also i've read posts of people saying the suspension is too hard or too soft. to me it seems okay but i want to change the springs to a different color. what springs should i get? and if there are any other custom work that has not yet been posted i'd appreciate it if you post them! Thanks

Finished th Mini body. Wheelbase is shorter so it's not a perfect fit but still happy with it.

Now maybe I'm gonna look for an O.S. .18 and see how it handles the Revo pipe.

It's a Tamiya body. It's been so long I can't remember if it was bought from eBay or eTamiya.

I don't know if the HPI body is a little shorter so it could get a better fit.

Sorry but I don't know what happened to make the pics so big

yes, it does. It is a bit small but works. If you look at the ME16 thread, Wheelnut has a few pics of this with a TLT body on i think page 2 or 3....

I picked up a few New Bright RC cheapies and i think the hard bodies off these will fit the MG and ME series.... just wish i had a MG to check.....

I used Traxxas rustler adjustable camber links, and they were the right length for the rear! All the mg16's I've owned have front and rear negative camber horrible right out of the box! I install adjustable links right away on everyone of them.

When i had my MG16, I put the new camber links on the rear and front and the only problem I had was that sometimes during certain circumstances the dogbones would pop out of the sockets.....it mighthave been just mine but beware....i think the best upgrade you can do for the mg 16 - besides getting a new engine is getting the Wheel Extensions - either 1 - 1.5" long, then you can put oversized wheels on it and it looks bad *****.. i put wheel extensions on all my trucks i own and i love them
