OK! I now see the problem I was having after reading your post HALESK! The truck ran away from me as well after it flipped over it was acting twitchy and then it ran away at mid speed and hit a curb. I attached a fail safe to mine and added a small piece of foam to the battery case to help the batteries stay snug that thin plastic piece wasn’t doing the job. I though it was the radio that was causing the glitch I was in a wide open park with little interference and that makes all the sense in the world the way the truck was acting it was like having low RX voltage. I will try the AAA mod as well once I get the right part from CEN they sent me body mounts instead of the shock tower I needed.LOL So I hope to get the shock tower by this weekend and I will post the results if the foam in the battery case helps. Are there any RX battery packs I can buy that are already assembled that would fit with no mods? Thanks for the good info on this forum you guys have been a lot of help!

My new cen mg16 mt came today .The on off switch was dead right out of the box not a good sign.Went right to hobby shop got new switch with charge cord .Chucked the old switch rigged up a new hump pack under the radio box .So far so good will have to figure a better setup for now its ok but ugly. The engine was real tight was yanking my brains out said screw this put on a tiger drive model s702 it works perfect. The carb settings were a little off would not start raised the idle open hsn 1/2 turn backed out lsn 1/8 hit the starter and it went right off . I have a assoc pull start manifold and a tower st15 tuned pipe looks like a easy fit .

i wanted to try a CRT.5 pipe on it. The pipe is short enough to not hit the front tires.

I kind of wish i had put the wheelie bars on when i had the AE rear pipe, it would have solved the issue of the output nipples getting filled with dirt from the wheelies...

first thing i would do is to check your glow plug and make sure it is still good. If the truck was upside down, it ran out of fuel and went lean. It may have burned out the plug from going lean. If changing that does not work, then you may have to chek the pinch of the piston by pulling the motor apart. You need to take very special care to do that.

As far as battery mod, i have not looked at lipo replacement, but that may be an idea. I assume you had the batteries in the stock place? First you need to glue the metal prongs down in the battery holder. They come loose and cause this. Second, i would use Energizer Lithium AAs, i use them for other electronics and they work great. My battery mod worked fine, but i think may have been a little over kill. I also see people wiring in another AA and stuffing it in the receiver case. If you can solder, that would be a way.

Let us know how the motor fairs out. I have an electric version of this truck and miss my nitro. I have been thinking of picking one up..

sounds good. Keep us posted on what they find.
Also a fail safe would not have worked if the battery fell out, but do you have failsafe if you get out of range or low battery? Would still be a good idea.

i'd call CEN and see what they can do for you. they have some kind of engine replacment plan.
Other wise pick up an Os engine and get the proper flywheel and crank nut from CEN and run that.

Hey guys I'm thinking of getting one as my next nitro and I want to know what you all think of it. Are parts readily available. Is it fun? Will it be able to outrun my Nitro Stampede or no?(of course not my BL Slash though but I'm more interested in its top speed and bash ability) Amainhobbies has an amazing deal on them for $139.99 and I'm a member there all I need is money and I'll have $150 next month($50 for my b-day and $100 for graduating 8th grade). So are they well worth it? Thanks in advance guys!

Cen stock all parts and Atomic Hobbies on ebay stocks a lot also.

Will it outrun a n-pede, depends on the engine in the pede i guess. I liked my MG. It was a fun minimal hassle nitro. I of course wanted to take it above and beyond stock.... similar to my brushless electric version of this truck... Parts do break and there are not a lot of hop ups out there for stronger parts. I had minimal breaks with the MG, but my Me16 has not faired as well.

Here is a vid of mine stock, no mods but the RX battery and bearings.

i ran traxaxs 20% on it. It was a bit oily of an oil for it, but performance did not suffer that i noticed.

Simple fail safe.

Use a spring that has enough pull to pull the servo back to nuetral/brake. Of course it puts some effort on your servo but it works if you battery goes dead or falls out etc. plus its cheap.
