Default My lathe may be too big?!

Hi guys,

Major bummer, I ordered this lathe [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLBB7&P=7]*link*[/link] and it arrived today.

Iv been waiting for ages, and been dying to cutt the comm on my trinity micro monster motor, because the motor was running terribly..

However, I get the lathe today and I think its too big for the little mini motors!

Have a look at the pic attatched, tell me theres something I can do!

The farthest support does move, but Iv already bought it in as far as it goes....

Also, is there a way to hold the armature there? Or when you put the rubber belt around it is that all the support it needs? Thanks again

I have a similar one made by Integy. They are made for 540 size motors. I can't imaging geting a mini motor to fit on mine.

Could you add some kind of temporary slip on shaft to each end? Your LHS probably has something that fits onto the shaft.

The rubber band is all that holds the armature.

Thats a brilliant idea! Ill have a look for some tube or maybe drill out the inside of a bolt to fit over the end.

I dont have a LHS, new zealand sucks for RC..

How do people normally cut mini-comms does anybody know?
