False Peaking?
I have a mini (1/16 scale) 7.2 nimh battery and a Losi charger (see pics). When I charge any mini 7.2, it will quick charge for about 1 min and then go to trickle charge. Is this "False Peaking" normal?
Once it is trickle charging, after about 45 min, the battery is warm/hot. Thats when I take it off and drive my car. The battery appears to be fully charged. Should I continue to charge the battery this way? The battery SEEMs fine, but I'm not sure.
Any thoughts to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

RE: False Peaking?
It must not really be "trickling" if it gets hot. It is probably fast chargeing (to charge in 45 minutes and get hot)
If unsure maybe you can post the specs for the charger and battery. It sounds like maybe it is doing a "battery test" for the first minute?
Specs such a mah for battery and ma for charger will help.

You are fine using that charger for the battery. If the battery is getting warm there shouldn't be a problem, now if the battery was getting to hot to touch then you would have a problem. Also you should look at getting a better charger in the future.

RE: False Peaking?
Thanks for all the input!
One last question: charging a Radio (TX) battery, AA 2100 mah. Can I use a adapter that is 12V at 1000ma? 12V 300ma?
How long will it take to charge?
Thanks.

RE: False Peaking?
1000 ma is probably too fast, 300 ma is perfect (300 ma = 300 mah per hour) so to deliver 2100 would be 7 hrs.
I think the 12 voltx300 would be nice. Hard to estimate times though because it is hard to get exact figures especially how much charge is remaining in the battery.

ORIGINAL: guver
no, it would be a bit less than an hr (at the same rate)
amps means 1 hr. 1 amp = 1.0 mah in one hour.

guver, I know its just a typ-o on your part, but to clear things up a bit...
1 amp hour (ah) = 1000 milliamps in one hour (mah).
