RC18T or RC18MT
I know there has to be tons of these topics posted but i wanted one of my own. Please speek freely ,
Im open to any idea's , im kinda stuck on the 18mt because im a monster fan, (i know it aint much of a monster) but, of the rc18 series its the most monster*ish.
Some say that it handles like a tank compared to the 18T?? is that true??
Thanks guys,
I would appreciate this alot

RE: RC18T or RC18MT
I'd say go for the RC18T. It's a great 18th vehicle and if you end up wanting more ground clearance, then just convert it to an MT. They are so close, that it's just a handful of parts that you need to change to get it to an MT. It's just the body, pinion, spur gear, gear cover, and tires. Essentially, the tires are the only thing that makes the RC18MT "beefier" than an RC18T.
I bash my RC18T and it takes quite a beating. In fact, it usually fares better than my MLST does.

RE: RC18T or RC18MT
I went with the 18t FT which came with the needed spurs, pinions, and spur cover to make it either. The only other differences are the wheels and tires (well and the body, but they are close enough.) And I went with a set of Dirt Hawgs for a little more of the MT look, especially since I haven't heard great things about the AE MT tires.
In case you haven't seen it, conversion chart to go from any rc18 to any other: http://aedownloads.com/pdf/convert_ae18.pdf

RE: RC18T or RC18MT
The 18T sits lower and has lower rolling mass, because of the tires, so it will drive better. However, if you want to compare, buy an RC18T and grab the MT tires and a smaller pinion and you've pretty much got yourself the MT to compare.
If you are going to be jumping or bashing, I'd recommend you grab the 3Racing shocks for it, too. They are a little bigger than the stock shocks, and have threaded bodies, so you can adjust the preload very easily.

No, the FT kit diffs are the same as the RTR diffs. However, I'm running a Mamba 25 / Dynamite C4 8000kV motor in my RC18T FT and the stock diffs are holding up just fine. I will probably update them with metal cups, though.

RE: RC18T or RC18MT
the 18T handles WAYYY better than the 18MT and the shell looks better IMO, the FT trucks come with a whole list of upgrade parts "stock"[8D], IMO may cost more, but it works to be a better deal

Not the biggest 18T fan but if thats what your looking at, then go for it! There isn't anything terribly wrong with the series.

I ran the Mamba 25/6800kv combo in mine and it's a great setup for that truck. Another option that I think you might like a little better is a Quark 33a Pro ESC and a Wraith 7000kV motor.

RE: RC18T or RC18MT
Here's a couple pics of mine..it's basic and I had to do it too quickly, due to the landlord getting mad about the compressor sound. That's why you see the bleeding and the bad line on the side.
Here's the replacement, once that one gets too beat up:
