RE: OFFICIAL Detta ST THREAD **********
I dont have a problem with motor heat (its just under 60 deg no matter how hard i bash). I just want more speed
Anyway I went ahead and got the Neu 1105/1.5Y motor! Its being shipped right now.
I also got dualsky lipos! 1700mah 35C powerpacks that JUSt fits into the battery tray. Was tempted to try out the lipos but its raining here [&:] At least I have my mini revo for rainy days. Its so much slower but its better than no RCing
And its raining heavily right now as I type, but too bad I got to go to work. The best time to play my RC always seem to be the when I'm working [:'(]

So I got the NEU motor mounted up. Was running out across the skate park (about the length of 2 basket ball courts), and I squeeze the last 10% of my throttle, and the detta wheelies, flips and slides on its roof for about 5 meters...
The NEU got lots of torque and I'm very impressed

I have steel diffs, but I'm waiting for the plastic ball diffs to go before changing them. Ive tried the steel diffs with the medusa motor, and it was noisy, so I'm hoping i dont have to use them lol
So far, I set my sidewinder to very gentle starts and that helps keep my plastic diffs alive.
Yeah I've seen your vids but they gave no indication of the speed and power to expect Right now I'm geared 16/45 and its just too fast to do anything. I cant even do a full throttle pass unless the lipo is drained. The only thing I can seem to do with ease is to filp the detta on its top lol
Another things that the NEU motor is good for is for front flips.

are you running gear or ball diffs, i had gear's and i switched to balls and they've been much better if you run um a little loose the slippage actually saves them and they won't melt due to heat like some other ball diffs... just a thought

Pulled my ST out of the moth balls today. Forgot how much fun the dettas are to drive.
Gonna get a tacon 28/48 3900kv and a 25a ezrun esc. The vr3 is actually very fast but the heat and esc's = fail.

Hey, could one of you guys reiterate, the front suspension of a buggy and an sc are the same width, I'm rebuilding a vendetta buggy chassis into a rally platform.
And if anyone knows of some good threaded shocks for the buggy chassis, chime in!

Yes, the SC has the pillow ball suspension which the buggy may or may not have as standard equipment, but they are the same width.

RE: OFFICIAL Detta ST THREAD **********
Damn guys, sucks to see that this thread has died. Here let me post some motivation.
Finally got it running again... Issue is now I want a larger motor to fill up that chassis!!! Thinking... 28-45-3600 Ammo, but kinda pricey.
Anyone aware of reasonably priced alternatives, in the ~45mm long can area? I was initially thinking Tacon, but I'm wary it would simply be a large, cheap can that has the same power my existing 28-35-5100 has. Input?
Currently, just for giggles, I'm trying to see if I can successfully mount the front PBS onto the rear of the truck. I don't race, but the adjustable toe and "wow" factor would still be snazzy.
ANYWAYS!

I hope you don't mean 6800 Mamba... those motors struggle with the size and weight of the Vendettas. I had one in my buggy and it turned into smoke.

Ah! OK yeah that's a really good option. I would go for it.
As an aside, I've decided I no longer want a different motor. I went 19/45 with my 3sand it was entirely too unstable. Even rolling (~30MPH?) I could get the front off the ground. I decided I'll just stick at 16/45 and enjoy gobs of torque.
Oh yeah, my Sidewinder Micro was on every "gentle" setting available. o.0"

I HAVE DECIDED ... Weekly update. Haha... Was beating the crap out of it behind my local Costco, and gave my buddy the wheel. In an entirely empty lot, he found a stray shopping cart corral, and well his luck is good. Did this little critter in. Fun to know at a certain speed plastic no longer breaks but simply shears. quick and easy fix, in all honesty I think the body gave some good protection, but none-the-less, SC bumper time.
Oh and can anyone recommend gearing for 2.2 buggy tires, and a Tacon 28-48 3900? Time for substantial upgrades. Figure I'll throw in pictures for funzies.

What rims and body is that? I'm sick of the sotck rims and I can't find much wheels/rims that look good on the vendetta st.
