I know you said no modified motors but the Mamba brushless motors are good motors. You can always get a small one (4200 kv), it shouldn't be too fast. You can always turn down the throttle on the remote. Brushless last a lot longer than stock brushed motors. We have been racing for over a year every Wednesday night and I am on my second motor, the first motor the wires broke so I sent it in to Castle Creatons and they sent me a new one for free. They have some of the best customer service.

Now if you dont have the money to go brushless I know that the Team Orion Baja and Big Block motors are supposed to be pretty good. Brushed dont last as long and evenutally it probably will be worth starting with a brushless.

I've heard that getting a battery with seven cells with increase the speed and do well. Go to "thetoyz.com" and click on rc18t. you could just get a new motor and a 7 cell battery

it will speed it up, 7.2 volts compared to 8.4 volts, the bad thing is it will run hotter

i prefer li-po's with the Mamba's, they last a long time

The Team Orion BAJA is a great motor in the RC18T and is rebuildable , and works great with the stock ESC .

well the thing is my son is not ready for the speed of a brushless or a modified motor. i was hoping someone could tell me a good brushed motor to run. i don't think the 280 mini baja motor is as fast as the 370 motor that comes in the rc18t. my wife has a mini-twith that motor and its considerably slower than my sons rc18t.

I think the gearing in the Mini-T is different than it is in the RC18T. I have had both and at one time I had a stock RC18T motor in the Mini-T and it wasn't as fast as it was in the RC18T.

I would buy a small brushless, you can turn in down on the stock RC18T radio's. A 4200kv with stock RC18T batteries can't be that fast anyways. I'm not sure how long they would last though.

You are running a brushed motor in the chaos? Are you just running one or two motors?
