first tell us what classes there are and what they allow ...

thing you REALLY NEED !!

3racing Alum Shock its a must need
tires should be prepared if you want to ...its what drivers want ...

you also want a BIG fan so your car can run run very efficiently ..

motor ...anything not over 6800kv seems like the best ... battery is most likely 6 celeld .. 1500mah elite cells are the beset !

ok, it helps to come with "race rules" but i can try and help, for motor, keep the motor stock if they have a stock class, as for tires, IF THEY ARE ALLOWED go with foams, they may not last as long as rubber tires, but grip much better than rubber, if foam isnt allowed, run rubber tires, as for a battery, get like a the Reedy VMX 1600 Mah pack, or have "cheapbatterypacks.com' make you an elite 1500 pack, change ALL the electrical plugs (battery and motor) to deans ultra, they are nice "no loss connectors", if your budget allows, get the exotec RC18R chasis, this will lighten the car up a ton, if you have any more questions, feel free to PM me, it would help though if we knew the track rules [>:]

yep ... better faster stronger ...

use no servo saver if you want to have lesser slop steering but dont crash as much ...casue f you do it might ruin the gears ..

if you want to use a servo saver get the Xray servo saver and get the ring off of it

if brushless is NOT allowed, um, then get the Trinity Cobalt 14T motor, that should make mr 18R a SCREAMER, here's another tip, for high-speed cornering, lock (glue) the front diff up, it helps a ton[8D]

i unno ...how much you wanna spend ??

i have a digital 4.7 kg/cm torque servo on my recoil and man it corners fast !!

get a HS 56 servo ...its ok ..but not the best

just go search on tower hobbies or other places ...

hitec, JR and other brands are best ...

Okay thanks. I ask this because I've been told to buy a servo in the past and not been able to find the servo saver.

18r 18 scale brushless class

GPM shocks (not that great - very heavy, not great - VERY heavy)
DP Drag Link
Titanium Ball Studs
Titanium turnbuckles
Mamba25/6800kv
AE foam tires (and AE stock)
MIP shiny drive CVD in front (stock bones in rear)
2xGPM Titanium Outdrives/Ball Diff
2xCarbide Diff Balls
2xTheTOYz dot com METAL outdrive/diff gears
HS56 servo
RS300 digi synth Rx/JrXS Tx

Many say the titanium diffs are overkill but they cost the same as the MIP and are WAAAAY lighter. The titanium outdrives with metal gears are lighter than the MIP diffs with plastic gears. I got tired of diff issues with the variety of distructive things I do to them (jump - haha, drift with drift wheels loads of spin, race, bash and top speed. Lots of different abuse)

Im not saying this is the fastest way, I am just saying what I run in our small (6-8 car) open brushless 18scale races. So far winning is mostly about tires, things not going wrong, settings being right, and SKILL at this speed level.

Im not a big winner...

YET!!! =D

You might ask if that ROAR membership is really necessary for class participation. ROAR has no rules or covering for our class. So any insurance concerns may not even be covered for the track if something happened with a 1/18th. Also, getting a on-road 1/18th to handle good on a road course with a minimum 5mm ride height is not going to be fun. You should see if there is any leeway in that. Those rules where to protect the carpet from damage from heavy sedans. 1/18th are much lighter in comparison.
