No Im not racing but im not using lipo. Ill upgrade to 6cell 1500mah elites. But Im mainly looking for speed. Ill put a heat sink on the motor and Ill save my money for the 3racing chassis for the fan and for weight.

oh ya i forgot about those! just slap a heat sink on there and you should be set. just make sure to cut some holes in your body so you get some air flow in there

I saw one on ebay the other day. and BTW theres a huge hole where you mount the motor there is plenty of airflow to the motor.

wth?? 6celled 8000kv never over heated for ME NEVER EVER! i like full throttle and stuff ...and never got near hot ...

the exotek is a much better CF racing chassis ...its one of the BEST rc18R chassis out THERE!

mongoose 13.5 and 10.5 is gonna be like stoc speed ..maybe little bit faster ..but still pretty slow ..

o wow ...he must have his gearing wayy off ..o remember the MINI T is also a truck ... it has bigger tires and gripper treads too so that means that it NEED more force to move the car resuliting in MORE heat ...

dude .. i hadd the 8000kv on my rc18r ..no fan ..no heatsink... worked fine ... using 15/54 gearing....

you didnt have a rc18r with 8000kv haha

haha there is no point for them unless you NEED THEM! but if your stock servo is still running strong id just use that one. or you can get one from Hitec ...i forgot the name at the moment but there a little blue on for like 11 bucks. insanely fast for the price!

you dont need CF shock towers... but you can buy it to just reduce weight and make your car look nicer .. thats all..the exotek towers have more mounting options i think ..

your new servo should be something reliable and fast! not sure what tho....

some digital servo would be nice ...

i run digital haha

dude ... that is GREAT ! also try to get a pair of 3racing adjustibale turnbuckle cost like $12.50 .... they never broke or bent on me yet :]

also pick up a coulpe extra pinions ...a 9t, 10t, 11T, 12T 10t seems to be the best for me ... awesome and smooth through the corners..... on the straight you have to full throttle tho ...

Okay I want to get a mamba 8000 X package for my new rc18r. Ive never had a brushless and I have a 15 tooth aluminum pionion. My first question is this wont get too hot with the stock battery will it? My second question is is this the right setup ([link=http://cgi.ebay.com/Castle-Creations-Mamba-Micro-Pro-8000-X-Pacakge-ESC-25_W0QQitemZ320305111496QQihZ011QQcategoryZ44028QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem]Link[/link])? It doesnt look like the right esc. Is the mamba easy to setup? And my last question is I will be doing a little drifting, i already am, will it be just fine if i quarter throttle it or is going to mess up my drifting with this motor?
Thanks, Ryan

Default RE: OFFICAL RC18R THREAD

youll be fine drifting

i just made my order at thetoyz after breaking a front dogbone

here is the order

exotek race chassis
thetoyz threaded shocks
cvd/s for front
aluminum bell crank with ball bearings for steering servo
screw kit for 18r (always good to have)

so my questions are what shock oil should i run in the new shocks 40wt, 50wt?

thanks

thats just the mamba in a box ...err case and with a heat sink ....

its new and better ...and it looks right ...it been out for a pretty long timee ...

get it ... drifting is fine with that motor .. it will not mess up your diffs .... drifting doesnt really mess up your drift ... racing does ..

um...i personally didnt have one myself but my friend did and in a way it was kinda confusting with the whole remote thing but you can always get the Castle Link for your computer. i personally think the mongoose is easier to set up compared to the mamba.

you never used a mamba so how can you compare it to a mongoose.. anyways ...

mamba is super easy to set up ..just plug and play but whne the first time you use it and you see a green light flasging put full throttle .. then whne it change to red light apply yellow then to yellow let go of the trigger to neutral...
