Default Stuff for pro pulse

I am about to invest in my pro-pulse and i need to know exactly what to get and where. I need MIP superdiffs, MIP CVS's (1 or 2 pair?), mamba 8000, an esc to run 3s 11.1 1300Ma+ LiPos, 3s 11.1 1300Ma+ LiPo's, a LiPo charger, and a balencer. I would also like to get a new radio but it kinda comes second to brushless and before LiPo but i want to get it all.

This is what i have so far:

radio: http://www.toysonics.com/hitec-aggre...os-125753.html

MIP CVD's (1 or 2 pair?): http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJHW7&P=FR

MIP Super Diffs.: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXKBC2&P=ML

I know it is going to cost alot of money but i want to get it going now and work my way to the final result. I am building this just for enjoyment and a little bashing and ramping. I dont race but just want to have fun with insane speed and torque. I still need links for all the other stuff and help with LiPos and LiPo gear and an ESC!!!!!

i have the xcelorin 8200kv in my pp. its fast, but its too much for bashing around the yard. i personally would recommend a smaller motor if you want to do anything other than go straight and fast. i ordered a cheap 4200kv motor from hobby city to replace the xcelorin for bashing around the yard. the esc gets hot fast with the 8200 and its a real PITA to have to stop and cool it of. a fan would probably help, but i would probably still be concerned. runs times aren't very good either.

you're better off with the radio you have than that hitec. thats am and your pp radio is fm. you can probably pick up a used mx3 and rx for a little more than that hitec and be way better off.

you need 2 sets of cvd's. the MIP superdiffs are awesome! i would get those before anything else as they are the weakest link in the pp drivetrain. i had to shave a little bit of material out of the rear diff housing to make it work. steel input and diff gears are a good upgrade too. a sealed bearing set is $13 well spent. i had to clean the stock bearings constantly.

I am willing to spend $250-300 on this and if i can get everything else for that price it would be ok. But whats a good charger around $40-50? i figure brushless = around $100 and diffs and CVD for $40 and radio around $50 and the rest on LiPo stuff.

both the fma & the turnigy have balancing built in. i recommend a lipo charging bag. [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXSEA5&P=ML]link[/link]

explosions are rare, but they can happen. i would rather be safe than sorry when it comes to burning the house down...

And Where is the best place to get Lipos and the best ones to get? also im looking at the mamba 6800? is that better for general bashing and run time or would you recomend a cheaper brushless system? basicly i want it to go fast and still allow me to cruse around and use a full LiPo battery charge w/o overheating. Id like speeds around 50 but id rather is go a bit slower and last longer. Id does however seem kind of pointless to spend $200 instead of $300 and it only go 35-40 instead of 55-65

it really depends if you like to turn or not. those high kv ratings are just good for going in straight lines up and down your block. not really great for general bashing. I'd go with a lower kv motor like the 6800 or lower. you can always run more voltage through it to go faster... a 3s on a lower kv motor should run cooler and perform as well as a 2s on a higher kv motor. course you can run a 3s on a high kv motor and its insane, your car will be soo fast it will do backflips. i personally have chasing after something that goes 50mph to go and flip it back over, but that's me.

i ordered 3 different lipos from hobbycity that should be here anyday. i'll know what fits as soon as they get here. i'll put up some links after i try em out! im not sure on the mamba as i only have experience with the losi 8200. if i had to choose right now without trying before, i would go with the 5400 from what all i've read. that may just be because im so turned off by the 8200. i have a 4200 on the way. it was $15 so i figured i'd try it.

I second everything that sonicj has said. For a sweet speed control I recommended the ezrun by Hobbywing. http://cgi.ebay.com/eZrun-RC-CAR-12T...QQcmdZViewItem
This is the same one that Speed Passion Puts out. Hobby wing makes for them it's not a chin knockoff. There is two sets out there a 7800kv and a 5200kv motor I think. Search Ezrun on ebay for them. I also agree to get a FM TX that Airtronics mx3 is great and you can get them for like $30 sometimes on ebay. Also the best lipo that I have found that fits is the Enerland Pq-1200xq its a 2S 30c. The first time I put it in it was a tight fit in the end but the padding pushed in, now it fits great. LOL virgin LOL sorry. I like the MIP cvd and supper diff. Just so you know that with the super diff your going to have to trim the diff case. For some reason I had to trim the rear case a lot more than the front Odd. so far so good I have only had it in a few days but I like it. Pick up two ASC rc18t rebuild kits just so you have new balls and plats or you could pick up the Ceramic balls. For the your parts check out www.stormerhobbies.com good prices on most things and they shipped fast. No I don't work for them. But the one order I placed with them I was impressed. I ordered my super diffs on ebay saved $4 but it was a week and a half wait. I wish I would order it from stormer I wouldn't have had to wait.

Thats all I got, good luck.

Just looked at it, damn...it is 15C....works great anyway. lol...

Well, what are you looking to do ? long runs, decent speed ? Super speed runs ? (a bit crazy with a 1/18th model if you ask me!!) Mine is crazy. The permax is a bigger motor, required modifying things to get it in. its a 5200 KV motor, but tons of torque. I modified motor plate so I could put a 25t pinion on...and it still has so much torque it will do a back flip without hardly moving foward. Probably hits 40 - 45 on 2S, and wheelies while doing 30+

But, its not practical to use. to hard to control.

A friend has one setup with mamba 4200. Its about stock top speed, but WAY more acceleration/power....and on the elite 2000, runs for maybe 40 minutes.

you could go a little bigger pinion for a little more speed, and still have good run times.

all im looking to do is run around yard and small jumps and having like 40 min runtime without having to stop because of overheating.I would like it to go faster than stock. so instead of 20 mph like 35 - 40 mph. if only one than like 30 with more rune time.

probably be tough to get 35-40 with a 40 minute run time. mamba's are a small motor too, do geared to go that fast while in grass or something probably would get them hot. You could try the 4200, or maybe go 5400 I think they have ? You'd lose some run time, not sure how much. He also has the 6800, thats getting more up to speed, but run time suffers more. Not sure how long it runs on that. 15 - 20 maybe.

On a side note, we got some cheap motor from china ...an 8900 kv...and even on the 2S the thing is CRAZY fast. I still have one I havent touched. Probably wont use it.

oh yea, and you may want to put a MIP super diff in the rear. The stock one wont handle a good brushless with lipo combo too long.
