I bet if you threw on some Jaco Prisims (or other foam tires), youd pick up a few more MPH. Foam tires dont ballon up like a rubber tire does. Eventully, ill have to get my 18R speed checked and see what i can get out of it

Seems kind of slow.. I've never seen a car that fast in person, I bet it screams, but mamba claims the 6800KV motor will do 50mph on a 3s lipo
edit: er, looks like you're still using 2s?

Do you have a vid? I never clocked my detta but it sure was fast.
I'll restrain from posting the whole vid in your thread and just a link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S32YX7e01cE Look at Jaejw1's vids to... We are running 2s lipo too.

That's fast enough at this scale .
I've noticed in those tuned up Vendetta St video's that the front lifts up at speed. Would probably be more stable without the the rear wing pushing down behind the rear axle in higher airspeeds, of course punching more power in will contribute to wheelies.[8D]

Actually, the 'ballooning' of the tires is HELPING with the top speed. Bigger tire=more MPH. Ever see a top fuel dragster at the end of a run? They are counting on the tires to balloon up.

I lost around 7mph off the top end of my Slash speed run truck when I went to some reinforced tires that didn't balloon. I had to regear comprehensively to get it back.

I just got back from the LHS and they had a RC18T there to check out. It's going to be mine soon now..lol I was going to get a E firestorm for my small track and just gear/set up for the size of my track but after seeing the 18T I just have to get it.. He showed me a mag that had a write up of a guy thats 76mph and could have went faster but it kept lifting into the air...
Now just need to figure out how to get it without the wife finding out...

Power isn't an issue. Power has never been an issue in electric RC, aerodynamics are a far more important part of speed running, along with steering control and tires. There are cars around with enough power to push them to way over 160mph easily. But they will never get there without serious aerodynamic and chassis work.
