Look on Traxxas' site, the motor is 4000kv and a 8 turn. Not sure if there any other specs yet.
Yeah I looked already, info is only there for the Velineon 3500 540 motor (the 1/10 one). For example that one is rated at:
65 amps constant
100 peak/burst

Since its the motor that dictate the amp draw, not the ESC, I wanted to have those infos before I buy any lipos. Well I guess that the motor might be able to draw about 25-30 amp constant.

Just my 2 cents about lipo packs balancers. Personnaly I use a Blinky balancer with my TC-1030 charger. Cheap and easy to use with any lipo balancing tabs pattern. You can balance while charging or after charging is done. I got it a few weeks ago from my LHS (about 25 bucks) and so far I like it. I don't know if anyone here use it too and could comment if it's a good quality balancer ??? http://www.readyheli.com/Astro_Blink...r_p/blinky.htm

I'm not going to run two of anything unless its nimh. One single 11.1 3S is enough for each run. Two is way over kill. Maybe two 7.4 2S in series but not two 3S. Lets say a 3S is 2000mah. Thats 2 amps times that by teh C rating an thats like 40 amps. Double that cause your running two and thats 80 amps. I think thats just overkill. Might as well save the pack for the second run or keep it to balance teh weight but you won't need to run it I think.
Well since you can't run the 3s in series anyway, you might as well hook it up in parallel and run it. It will essentially double your run time, rather than having to switch packs halfway through.

2 2s packs in series is definitely going to be overkill. But that doesn't mean that people wont do it every now and then to get their speed kicks, and then switch over to a parallel connector afterwards to finish out the packs.

Maxamps wants $74 for a 11.1 1500. I like the sealed idea.
So I've been cruising tower and adding packs to my wish list based on physical size. These are close to the sizes needed. Some bigger some small. Some may fit some definately will. But this is pretty much it for tower. I will try to find some more Lipos from all-battery and list them. I'm leaning towards a set of Nimh and a set of Lipo. Nimhs for kids, friends, wet weather and racing with other people using nimhs- cuase its no fun spanking somebody to easily. Lipos are for me on dry days and showing off.

Tower is still offering $$$ off for tower club memebers. Up to $60 on orders of $300+. $25 off 125 or more.

Yeah, the Team Orion Supercharge batts are 1600 mah, $25, and seem to be the best nihm backs out there. The $17 1600 mah 3s Zippy lipos are great too.

Well since nobody really knows how long they'll run on a pack yet, can't promise you'll get ten minutes run tiem out of it, might be mroe might be less. Read up on the traxxas site. They say you have to gear down to keep motor and ESC temps in check when running the 2 packs in series. Honestly if this is your first RC, you should start out with just one pack and get used to how it drives before you go hooking up the second pack. Trust me, these little things can be VERY dangerous at 40+ mph. Anyone here who's been in the hobby a while will tell you that they WILL bring blood when you hit yourself with it going that fast. If the charge rate is not adjustable then you should not use that charger. Charging at over a packs 1C rating is usually not recommended, and can over charge or over heat the packs and damage them.

This one should just be able to squeeze in. http://www.align.com.tw/shop/product...oducts_id=1556

Costs a fair bit more than the Zippys though.

Ok, first time to lipo's here. Will be buying a charger etc when I find a good one that will ship to aus and let me pay by paypal! I am going to get the 2X 3S 1600 zippy lipos. They look like bang for your buck, I might end up getting 2 nimh 1600 packs or getting 2X 2S 1600 to run in series (crazy i know!).

I need help with a bit of this, If I buy the 3S lipos can i run them in a parallel and not harm the batterys or ESC or do I have to worry about VLC?Also will I be able to lets say, run one of the 3S on its own and then the next day run 2 of them parallel? If I get those 2X 2S 7.2V and run them and charge them one after the other and balance to the exact same voltage as each other I should be ok to run them in a series (also can I run them on there own or am I doomed once paired via series)? I think I might just go 2 of the nimh packs, they seem safer insted of the 2S lipos but hell I dont mind buying them over the nimh if its safe to run them. Speed would be insane!

You can run 2 3s lipos in parrallel without harming the ESC. I reccomend if you have 2 3s lipos just run them in parallel the whole time, not one at a time. Otherwise they could get below lvc.

Will I be able to run 2x 2S 7.2v lipos? Maxxamps says you can run 1 3S 1550HV 11.1v pack? They have there packs up on there site now. I will probably get 2 2S 2200 7.2s and 2 3S 1600 11.1V, Ill run the 2S in a series and the 3S in parallel. Ill get an extra nimh pack too just for fun.

You will need an extra lvc for the 2s in series though. Sound great!

Whats a good charger off hobby city? A reliable one.. not too expensive. Somewhere around $90 with a balancer, discharger.. The whole thing..

Will I have to solder on my own connections to make the battery compatible with the revo? How will i do that? deans plugs?

check out the turnigy accucel 8. its a lot of bang for the buck! http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idproduct=7523 if you're planning on using dual batteries, for $80 you could go with 2 accucel 6 chargers!

personally, i would clip the traxxas connector and solder up some of the hobby city deans knock-offs! http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idproduct=2116 10 pairs for less than the price of one pair of the originals!

Hmm seems like a cheapy. I will most probably buy one from a lhs. I don't see the point in those cheap ones. I see everywhere of solder problems.

So I noticed that besides ebay for the Intellect IB cells, Tower has them for the same price as ebay. Made by Integy. $20for a 1600mah pack. So I called and got my order switched from the Traxxas to those. So will have 4 IB packs and 2 Orion Supercharge. Just need to get a 3S lipo. Gonna give my stock pack and my stock charger to a buddy whos new to this and this will be his first car. Please post when you get your car and what lipo pack you have (if it fits) so we can get a list going. Finding NiMhs and 2S lipos are pretty easy. Looks lie that the batteries for the TRX 450 heli may work. Very close to what we need as far as size.
