I know of people who are getting 100+ cycles out of them, so they are pretty long lasting. You can get almost 5 zippy lipos for the price of one Maxamps pack. So that's about 500 cycles with 4-5 packs for the price of one Maxamps pack with 300 cycle warranty. I chose Zippy.

Hey guys just a heads up. Pro Match Racing is gonna have side by side EnerG 1600 2/3A packs in stock probably in the next two weeks. If they discharge anywhere near as well as the EnerG sub C cells do then these should be pretty darn sweet packs. Not sure what the cost is gonna be yet, but if the prices on his 4600 packs are any indication then they should cost a fair bit less than the IB 1600 packs. I'm certianly looking forward to getting a few.

Just wanted to pop in and drop a few points.
Maxamps.
Maxamps are not worth the cash premium they put on their products. Their lipos puff, degrade with use and they will not disclose where they source the cells from. So those Zippys you are picking up for a 5th of the price of a single Maxamps cell could be the same cells that are in the Maxamps anyway. Best guess of the experienced lipo crowds over on RC-monster is that they are infact Chinese cells, which are actually worse than Zippys (tend to be Korean). Do not fall for them havingthe wildest speed claims or the shoutiest advertisements. Experienced lipo users avoid them for a reason.
Voltage vs. current.
Voltagedictates the eventual RPM the motor spins at, that is all. Current is the muscle, and it is dictated by the c ratingand overall capacity of the pack. Two 11.1 liposin parrallel will be thejoker setup for these trucks, a decent pair of1500 20c11.1 lipos in parrallel will give you 3000mah and 11.1v (and therefore 44,000 motor rpm)nominaloverall, but most importantly they will give you a60amp headroom on current. You could gear to the moon and run 60mph all day if you wanted with thosestats.Having a 14.4v nimh pack is useless if the motor is asking for so much current that thecells, which can only give around 30 amps, dump to a total of 10.5 volts under load. Then it will be slower than an 11.1v lipopack.
Current draw limits.
Someone said that current draw is dictated by the motor, this is only partly true. With nimhpacks, current draw will be dictated by the batteryas both the ESC and the motor will be rated higher than the packs. Lipo packswill place the strain on the ESC, as the motor willkeep asking for more current, the batteries will keep giving it, and it'sall got to flow through the poorESC. Remember that any system is only as strong as it's weakest component.

well put! very clear and concise points!
it might easier understood if you were to say; current draw is dictated by the motor, current delivery is dictated by the batteries. i think "avoiding bottleneck"s best describes the last points.

i want to run 2 2 cell lipos wired for extra volts so i will need to add the novak smart stop. How easy is it to disable it to use 1 2 cell lipo to turn it down a little. do you just unplug it or what?

read the beginning of the thread. Most RC18 batts should fit, not all.
The battery box dimensions are:
Height: 20.3mm
Width/Depth: 35.5mm
Length: 102mm

Really the RC18 batteries are longer. The Vendetta packs on the other hand should be identical. My buddy runs Rhino 2S 1750 in his vendetta and they fit perfectly, and thats probably what I'll end up using.

any 6 cell nimh that fits RC18 will fit
if you're going to use a parallel or series adapter to run two packs at once they should be the same pack
