So I bought a RC18 body before I relized that the F18 was longer and thought I would try to fit it as best I could. I like the body just not the paint job. I messed up pretty bad on it so just decided to practice with my airbrush with it. So don't pay attention to the paint just how the body looks..lol
What you guys think?

You can definitely tell it doesn't match the wheelbase.  It'll make a good basher body....

Yeah it don't fit good at all..lol Front shocks rub on body and basicaly had to cut the hole rear end off. But it will be like you said a basher for sure. Also have another one that will end up the same but gives me more to paint..lol So we know know the RC18 bodies are to short..

Looks sweet but how does it handle? How much weight does it add? Does the stock motor handle it well? Any modding to make it work? Need info..lol

They are on sale at ebay for $130 shipped from caster racing usa, but they are sort of hard to find.

Or you could pay more at casterracingusa.com. Holeshothobbies.com has some also.

but I would recommend "1/18 brushless" as the search and price high to low. It will be the lowest one including shipping as Caster is trying to get the name out there right now. It is the deal of the century considering.

I saw a f18 bl buggy for 125.00 plus 14.00 shipping. Do you think it will share parts. I really would prefer to get the st though. Im still looking. How are they running for the guys that scored one up already. Im planning on leaving it as stock as possible cause i like them that way. But every car has a few parts that NEED to get upgraded such as knuckles on the mini quake, steel cvd's for the detta . You know what I mean. I only upgrade things that need it i dont go to much for shiny stuff that does not improve my rig. sometimes i do if its so cool that i cant possibly live w/o it. hee hee

Are you asking if the truggy and buggy share parts? Yes, they are the same except for the body mounts. The truggy body mounts to the shock towers, the buggy mounts to the top brace.

Needed upgrades: 2mm locknuts on the diffs (at least the rear)and a metal gear steering servo.

Recommended upgrades: F18 Pro servo mounts and drag link.

This one looks interesting, saw them online. Does it come with 12mm hex drives for the wheels? are there adjustable body mounts available? does it use e-clips to hold the arms on? Does anyone have the one with a digital radio?
Thanks,
Brent

I got mine off ebay for $130 shipped and am happy as hell..lol So far I havent needed to replace anything not even the stock servo. I only put the nut on the diffs and so far so good. I run mine everyday atleast one lipo threw it and havent broke anything. Only thing I don't like is the tires.

Does anybody own or used the new caster 2.4 ghz tx with reciever. I saw them on e-bay for between 60 and 90 dollars with the tx and reciever. apparantly you can buy multiple recievers and bind the tx to each . This might be a good way of cutting down on the number of tx most of us have hanging around.Just wonering about the quality. I am familiar with 2.4 ghz from my copters.

Literally all the manufacturers, you name 'em, now have 2.4ghz model radios out - even on their RTRs.
But any of them that aren't by one of the majors, Futaba or Spektrum, you're still left with a cheap radio body with few if any of the controls most people want.
IMHO, from aease of usestandpoint, 2.4ghz is sure convenient - but at the end of the day a cheap radio is still a cheap radio, no matter what frequency/channel it's playing.

dude. sadly i think you are 100% correct. cheap is cheap. I do like the idea of just 1 tx though and I dont really want to shell out a bunch of cash on myself especially since x-mas is around the corner.

The 2.4 GhZ radio has EPA's and Dual Rates but it is still an RTR radio and focused more on economy of construction than quality of performance. I prefer my trusty XS3 synth even though it's outdated technology.

Considering how much some of the 2.4 GhZ receivers cost... if I were to get another 2.4 radio, I'd seriously consider the KO Propo EX-5 that comes with 2 receivers for less than $200.

Can you bind them to multiple recievers. Eventually I would like to have one tx and use it with 5 to 100 differant vehicles. Im new at all this but i already own 8 rigs if you count my 2 micros with a bunch of tx taking up a lot of room in my work space. Plus i see a bunch of bind and drive vehicles seem to be hitting the market. I think it would be awesome to need only 1 or 2 tx's.I think I need to read up on them before i purchase one.thanks for the info guys.

Even if you could bind to that many receivers (I don't know either way), you'll be limited to the number of models your TX can remember unless you like reprogramming your settings all the time. The EX-5 for example, has a 7 model memory.

How fast does this thing go? Has anyone run lipo? 3cells? Saw one at the lhs yesterday, impressive. Any known upgrades for the sloppy steering?

It's fast enough tobeat the Mamba powered RC18's at my track. I haven't run a 3S lipo but Jason at MaxAmps has run a 3S with the new Castle 26mmmotor in the F18 Pro.

The sloppy steering is cured with the $6 Pro aluminum steering servo mounts F18PT-014 and the $4.50 Pro aluminum drag link F18PT-017. Those two items are what I consider the "must have" upgrades.

The blue one is the latest F18Pro.  The diffs come pre-assembled with locknuts and they changed the tires to a more aggressive tread.
