RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
Can anyone tell me the Max battery size that will fit in these cars. I plan on picking one up next week and want to order some lipos, but I want to know what size battery i can fit.

Remember, different brand lipos have different dimensions. Additionally, different configurations (2S vs 3S) have maximal capacities that can fit. In general, larger capacity 2S lipos will fit easier than 3S.
I commonly use Thunderpower and HobbyCity: Rhino or Zippy in this Truck.
I currently run 3S parrallel. The largest I use is a HobbyCity 3S 1550mAh Rhino 20C. I also use a HobbyCity 3S 1050mAh Rhino 30C and a Thunderpower Prolite 3S 1350mAh 20C. I heard that some have fit upto 3S 1800mAh however, I don't know the brand.[]
Since I don't run 2S, I can only tell you what I heard. HobbyCity FlightMax 2S 2200mAh 20C is the largest that I heard can fit.

I was asking for deminsions. Not cell count and Mah ratings.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
100x34x17 is conservative and limits his battery choices.
It's not the max dimensions of the battery box..
I can't get anyone to give a solid answer on this.. I am going to go buy a micrometer and measure myself..
One guy posted:
Height: 20.3mm
Width/Depth: 35.5mm
Length: 102mm
and then in the same post he suggests a battery that is 21mm
So.. What's the max battery size? 21 or 20.3mm?
In these cars MM matters.

A micometer wouldnt help you in this case, what you nees is a set of calipers. I would recomend getting a 6" set, They are helpfull for lots of things in RC. while digital are easier to read, dial calipers never need batteries...

Ahh Calipers.. not micrometer sorry..
I haven't had a chance yet but this is on another forum..

105 is too long
100mm just makes it in and those need to have a little of the battery door clipped to get the wires. Here's a picture of a 100mm battery.

Since when does efficiency apply ONLY to motors? Efficiency is basically the ratio of input to output. I don't recall seeing in the dictionary the words ''heat waste''... Im going to take an rc airplane as an example because the amp draw is much more consistent than a car. Its a known FACT that you can have an 1000mah NIMH or nicad pack, and a 1000Mah Lipo pack, both of similar voltage and in the same plane with no changes other than battery, you can fly for a longer time with the lipo pack, considerably longer, because it has less voltage drop under load. In order to do the same amount of work, (fly the same airspeed) the higher your volts are, the lower the amp draw. The ONLY change is the battery pack, both batteries hold the same mah, yet the lipo flies longer. So, if efficiency is the ratio of input to output. And input 1000mah to both battery packs, and the output is a longer flight time with a lipo pack. What happened? The motor didn't suddenly become more efficient, because its the same motor in both tests, so the only conclusion is that that the lipo battery is more efficient.
ORIGINAL: Wild YFZ 450
That is completely incorrect. Efficiency is the ratio of energy used to the amount of heat that was waste. Like a Neu motor is 95% efficient which means 95% of the heat is turned into energy. Efficiency has nothing to do with Ni-mh or Lipos it would be the connectors/ battery bars ETC that would have any effect on the battery between Lipo and Ni-mh.

First off, Calm down people, there is no need for name calling or being overly rude.
Exactly what I was going to post.

wouldnt less voltage drop in acceleration on a lipo make it more efficient that a nimh battery?
...therefore making it a more efficient battery because of less voltage drop.. ..your basically just adding to his statement, so he isnt actually wrong he just never said why it was more efficient.
ORIGINAL: Wild YFZ 450
You are WRONG, Lipo can deliver more power because it has less voltage drop when you are on the throttle, Not because of efficency, which would because of the motor, Nice try though.
ORIGINAL: klaze
Running 2s lipo will give you better performance over 7.2v NIMH
Even tho it is the same voltage the Lipo can deliver the power more efficiently.
Grammar is not important.
It's impossible to find a company that doesn't exist because it was spelled wrong.

Good example, My Clodbuster on 14 nimh (16.8)volts cells is fast. My Clodbuster on a 3s Lipo (11.1 volts) is faster. The 2 pound weight difference helps out!

My real issue for this thing right now is tires. I'm bashing on dirt that is rather loose and the stock tires are just not digging in as well as they could be. Does anyone know what different tires (other than stock) I can get for this thing?

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
Here are some pictures i just uploaded from last weekend.
They were taken at breezewood proving grounds motocross park in breezewood PA.
That pink zip tie on the front right arm is there because the arm snapped and i needed something to hold it in place. aty least for one more run.
The 4th picture is a double that was like 8 feet long.. I had to hit it super fast because the lip is meant for quads/dirtbikes. not rc cars. Thank the lord for lipos

They didnt have much on them but i sher changed that with a tube of sil-glide. Its for o-rings and stuff but works great in diffs. Ill get some youtube videos up and some pics on RCU. youtube user name is "slice259" P.S this thing halls on the stock battery, and knowing i have a 3s just waiting for this thing is crazy.
