RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
I just bought one last night after work!! This is one beautiful mini can't wait to run it...I got 2 Tenergy 2S 7.4V Lipos about to run it and just wondering how quickly it will overheat if I run it in series.
Also do I plan on running in mud and light water would I need to get the Outwears pre-filter and if so how do I install them on the motor?

you can do that, but I wouldn't run them in series... you'll have overheating issues unless you switch to a 23t pinion, then still you'll have no low voltage cut off because the ESC only supports up to 3s lipos.. and two 2s in series is a 4s.. So unless you know the truck and batteries very well you'll be in danger of running the batteries too low.. never go under 3v per cell on a lipo.. I would shoot for 3.2v per cell as a low spot to recharge from.. Also, on 4s the tires will balloon out so much at top speed that it will very hard to control.
So for starters I would run your batts in parallel for increase run time.. once you get used to that maybe get a 3s for speed runs and stuff if you don't feel it's going fast enough.. people are hitting 55+ on 3s..

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
Thanks Peelin Out,
I will run the 2S in parallel for now and watch the temperature. If I just run one of the Tenergy 1800mah Lipos what sort of run time and speed will I be looking at?
I have been reading that the stock ESC needs an extrenal low voltage cut off if I do run both 2S in series is this true?
And is the Outwears filter really worth it as the motor seems pretty well sealed...

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
yesterday i bought a muchmore racing 5v fan. its 25mmx25mm. (for the esc). IKt worked beautifully for like 2 battery cycles. but then today i was using it and it was extremely glitchy. motor sometimes wouldnt even work. steering servo barely would move.
so i took the fan out of the 3rd channel. and now it works fine..?

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
Okay so I got 2 Tenergy 1800mah 7.4V lipos...the LHS did not have any 3S since I wanted to run (2) 3S in parallel to get the 11.1V punch and runtime....how long of run time will I be getting with my current 2 Tenergy if I run in parallel? I am thinking about returning them since I have not used them yet.
What do you all think?

I am running 2 1800mAh Zippy LiPo's and I am getting about 32 minutes , you could get 2200mAh per battery and get 45 minutes .

edit: yeah, as KRO says I would guess roughly bet 35 ~ 40mins with both in par. ymmv dep on driving style. after about 7 discharges and re-charges the batteries will start to perform at peak levels... so don't be disappointed if you don't get good runs out of them at first.

2 1600 Promatch Racing Pack
Series Connector
Mini Quake Heatsink
My Revo Vxl is getting quite hot after 1min. Any ideas on how I can reduce temps on the esc I already have a heatsink on the motor. But doesnt seem to work quite well.
Is it possible to use this? But I have no idea on how to wire it to what

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
What speed would I be at once the 2 Tenergy 7.4 lipos are at their peak levels? Also what does it mean to "cycle" batteries? I always balance with the JST-XH board with my Hyperion when I charge my Lipos as well do I need to do this every time?

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
just put the centre dif and aluminum toe links and push rods in and they are a must the centre dif makes it so much better when getting off hte line and the adjustments on the toe links is a huge upside definatly recomend this to those who want a car thats not always on 2 wheels
