RE: Got the New 1/16th E-Revo VXL...Now What?
Towerhobbies wasthe best place to get mine from. Came in 2 days ago. I'mstill waiting for that mini Sukoi 26m BNFfrom Horizon Hobbiesfrom April.
A few posts ago I was asked if the stock VXL configuration could wheelie. I incorrectly said NO. The 1- 6cell can do a wheelie from standstill. I'm so use to doing roll-on wheelies with my 6S E-Revo to save the tranny, that I forgot you could do it that way.

Heres some pictures of my Mini Revo, Compared to other RC's. Soldered on Deans connectors on everything, I also found out a Medusa motor can very well fit. In the pics you can see the second set of moutning holes on the Medusa fit the mount perfect, It will fit I will need to just dremel a bit of the Rear shock holder.

Man! Your workbench looks like when a parade of colors has a hang-over!
I'm going to see which combo of these batteries will give me the biggest punch!

RE: Got the New 1/16th E-Revo VXL...Now What?
Got my mini e-revo last thursday night. Didnt manage to unpack it till Friday after work
I've done a complete teardown to check for loose screws and built everything back up. So far, the build was alright. Just a couple of screws that could be tightened a tad more. I also removed the shim on the front and rear diffs as they made the gear mesh too tight. After removal of the shim, the diffs were quieter and smoother. I've also added some protection for the undercarriage.
So far I've only done 1 run with the stock battery, and it seems tocog a bit at startup. Brakes were soft and weak. I'm suspecting its the esc, but I havent verified it yet.
Pretty fast and punchy once it gest going thou.
Enough of words, here's some pics beside my vendetta and also a minor mod. For batteries with 14 gauge wires or thicker, its very difficult to close the battery tray without pinching the wires. I ended up cutting away the 'fins' in the rear cooling vents. That hole is just big enough to slide a deans plug through, but not enough for the traxxas plug.

I couldnt see anything but shadows in the vid either, And i KNOW my screen is set properly (for video editing). People with their gamma way to high wouldnt have a problem seeing it, but then colors are off and everything looks washed out....
hyperscorpic , thats for posting that pic of the bottom, first one I have seen. I have been wondering how tough it would be to add a second servo for steering, looks pretty easy....

This is definately one of the better minis. A few minor problems, but nothing major.

Hey!
For you NEAT FREAKS that run 3S parallel.......What do you think about this connector?

Anyway......What are you guys gonna do for Wheelie Bars. You gotta tame it someday?
Consider re-phasing it to ........The best mini out there
If you think that was 42 you either have horrible vision, or extremely unintelligent to realise that it can hit those speeds with the batterys and gearing I am using,
I neither have horrible vision or are extremely unintelligent.
I just have a sense of humor.
Try it sometime
BTW: realise is spelled with a "z"

Idon't think it is the best mini out there.. Its one of the betters like Access said but not the best.
Pray tell?.......What is your best mini?
What mini do you know that came out with a high performance BL motor stock? What minigave you an outright CHOICE to go 30 or ballistic 50mph?
What product manufacturer that you know designed a completely New 380 class motor and ESC for their mini? TA, Losi, HPI?
What mini do you know looks as futuristic?
Why shouldn't I give traxxas profs for this one? I think they just raised the bar for the 1/16th scale with their E-revo & Mini Slayer.
Pray tell?.........Why am I wrong?

RE: Got the New 1/16th E-Revo VXL...Now What?
I'm still using the stock esc, but I've changed by RX and TX. Everything is at 0 trim, 0 expo etc. Maybe it's just coz I'm too used to the brakes on my vendetta, which locks up the wheels with anything more than 1/4 brakes
I ran it again last night, after posting the pictures, and the brakes seem to be getting a tad better. However, I'm still kinda annoyed by the reverse function. It seems that in order to brake, you need to brake immediately after you throttle. If you throttle, and go neutral for a sec or 2 before braking, it jumps into reverse. Anyone have this prob?

HYPERSCORPIC: I'm no expert but I had the same initial problems when setting up my Futaba 3PM to my E-Revo 1/10th. I think your ESC needs re-calibration with your Transmitter. Try the calibration steps in your manual. Hope this helps!
