I think i've found an engine better for the crt than the .18 tz, the SH Engines .12 onroad.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQE2Sfa1aVY

Putting one on order before I buy the crt itself.

A few people make kits you can buy. Just Google "OFNA CRT .5 conversion kits" and see which you like.

I bought it as a used RTR that someone else had converted to brushless with a bluegroove conversion kit. It was really kinda gimp the way that kit was designed. So I saved up some money and bought an RCM chassis kit. Much longer, better placement of parts, more room for a battery. I wanna get the extended A-arms eventually but I have an RC8 buggy I just started and I wanna get it running before I buy the expensive A-arm kit for this.
I just got my bearings in today, woot. Rolls so much better and the wheels have much less slop in them. Just waiting on the Lipos!

That's awesome you got it running the way you want it! I got mine and have been driving it at my bro's house. We broke it in and it runs great. I'll have to get some pics. up! Where did you get the huge shocks?

The fronts are Jato composite shocks with light springs and the rears are 1/8 buggy front shocks. It's common mod but I think I need to trim a loop of the rear springs, it's kinda bouncy.

Are the ones on the rear any special kind or brand of shock. Also i have massive tires that i bought and i was wondering where i could buy some gears to make it lower geared. What gear should i buy. Clutch bell, spur or what? I need it to make it quit a bit lower. Now with the tires on it overheats the engine due to too much load. I have to make it real rich.

Clutch bells are much cheaper than spur gears and you have more options with them as well. I start with some smaller clutch bells.

Rear shocks? Nothing special. My are teh CR X-1 front buggy shocks. Whatever front buggy shocks you have around will work. Just need the mounting hardware for them an you should be golden.

Where can i find the smaller clutch bells?

Also with your diff oil setup with the ten in the center. Does it "diff out" easily, because right now mine does it way too much. Two tires will be spinning like crazy and two will not spin at all.

Would I be safe running a Mamba Max and Medusa Afterburner V2 3300kv motor on 6-cell Ni-MH?

You might notice your batteries getting hot, but it should run fine. Zippy or Turnigy Lipo 2s would be a better choice for way cheap batteries if you already have a charger.

But I don't. I was just going to use the Ni-MH until I got my Turnigy 4S LiPos and a charger.

You best bet would be to ask over there. Or order direct from the Medusa. I got mine from them in a couple days ordering direct.

Nope they're out of stock too. But they do have the nice option of them soldering on bullet connectors for you. I like that.

well boys i've got some good news and some bad news.

Good: I went racing this saturday and qualified 6th, because my truck was running funny and i had to drive my dad's revo in the truggy class. Then we got it running good and i was doing great against the full sized truggies... I lead the first 4 laps out of a 20 min. main.

Bad: Nobody will tell me where to get smaller clutch bells and I only raced four laps.. I flammed out, restarted, took it out again and flammed out again. I restarted about 5 times and by the third time i made it about ten feet then....buh.[] It will start fine, idle fine, but when i go to gas it it dies immediatly. Sometimes i will make about ten feet.[&o]

What could cause this and how do i fix it???? It's sitting in my room like a wounded soldier.[]

You know, if it were brushless you wouldn't have this problem
I'm not sure what CBs fit and as far as the motor flaming out...can't tune nitro unless it's infront of me.

Yeah and it would be faster, lighter, more reliable, cheaper,... you know what just shush about your brushless... mines louder!

What's weird is that it ran fine until then so i don't think it is a tuning problem. It could be an air leak. I'll have to check it out tomorow.

Also a good bit of info. for you converters. they make an electric CRT.5. It's not called a crt.5, but it is 1/12 and looks very similar.

Here it is: [link]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXJW3&P=7[/link]
maybe not quite as good, but is cheap and looks decent.
