No the CRT.5 is ment to run small block engines. That is a big block. Small blocks typicly range from .12-.18 A TRX 3.3 is a .20 and will fit and the OS .21TM. But your on a budget and the 21TM is $300

Not sure if this is the right spot to post this, but maybe, so here goes.

I have a Rustler (brushless) and I love it, but have been getting a bit bored with it recently. I recently came across the ability to trade for a crt .5 It was the kit version, has about 2-3 galons through it. All I do is bash, there is only one "track" local and it's about 45 minutes away at someone's house. Not a serious raceway. I'm wondering how durable these are. I know I can launch my rustler will take all the abuse I can give it, and then some. How durable are the crt .5's? Should I take this trade, or hang on to my rustler and just pick up one on ebay for cheap?

Well.......I have owned my crt.5 for about two months now. I drove it once at the local track (3hrs away) and ended up breaking the servo saver on my fourth tank. It seems to be a good little car so far though. I own the rtr version. The true test of durability will come once the snow is gone and I can race it against revos at the bmx track.

On the trade. I would do it because you can always convert the crt.5 back to electric. Then it will most likely be faster and handle better than your rustler.

Just my input

Thank you for the input. Sadly, I ended up having to cancel the trade.

I would look at your fuel lines. Make sure that fuel can get through. Sometimes it gets a little gummy if left alone for a while. If its not that make sure the fuel imput on your carb is clear.

Hey guys.
I just got back into the rc scene and i have always loved these truggies. Tho, sadly i never got one.
I see they are on ebay now for around $140 rtr version

im thinking about picking one up, how are the rtr versions for bashing? thats all i prettymuch do. can they take big jumps and dirt well?
I know t wont be anything like my t-maxx but im tired of always spending money on it. i wont to drive more, fix less.

soo is the crt .5 good for bashing?

From what i've read it's a pretty resistant car. I love Jammin Products. I have a mildy upgraded X1x and that thing is damn near indestructible. Last night i was browsing eBay and saw an eBay store with the CRT.5 Pro Kit for 99.00 before shipping. Can't beat that with stick. I went ahead and ordered one. Figured i'd use the time to think of an engine to get for it. I'm pretty excited about it.

The Pro kit comes with no engine or electronics, does have a tuned pipe though. The Pro kit comes with a lot of the CNC machined aluminum parts that you would have to upgrade to if you got the RTR, and the Pro also has a carbon fiber radio tray i believe. It now has the extended chassis so you don't have to worry about mini servo woes. It comes with an extra set of Pro-Line tires/wheels as well as the stock ones. Honestly i got it, because it was about 30 bucks cheaper than the RTR, has all the upgrades. And if i wanted to get the .12 Jammin engine that comes with the RTR i could get it for 70 bucks. But i have a radio for it already so yea. From my experience you can't go wrong with a kit car, if money is of no factor.

Where is the best place to by upgrades/parts for the CRT.5? Or is there a cheat sheet around that tells one what "other" car parts will work with the CRT .5? Sorry if these are duplicate questions already answered (did a search with no real answer or solution, but then again maybe my search syntax skills are lacking). Thanks in advance for any help...

Hey guys, I thought I was out of nitro for good, but my 10 year old son got interested so I figured I would get us a couple of small nitros. After a lot of research and looking around, an RCU member help me find a really good deal on two RTRs on ebay. I'm actually excited about nitro again. They shipped very fast and I am very pleased with them. Going to break them in this weekend and have some fun.
I'll read the rest of this thread later and hope to see you guys here.

staterec, I'm sorry I don't have an answer to that question right now, but I will begin the search soon as well. I will be looking for the CF shock towers and probably the threaded shocks.

Subscribed.

the only upgrades you need are Jato shocks on the front and 1/8th buggy fronts on the rear of the truck.
