i would get the vxl unless you prefer brushed i havent really heard anything about the brushed version's but with the vxl you can go slower if you want however with the brushed version you can only go so fast just a thought but thats my opinion and i dont own either 1

Get the VXL and if it's too fast for you with one battery, then just put it in training mode which would make it go roughly 15mph.

man go vxl i have one in my slash the stock motor goes about 20 with 7.2 and 26 tooth pinion however my vxl with a 23 goes twice as fast or seem that way lol but one thing bout the vxl well two things get the option fan for the speed control its 20 more but trust me i run a whole battery down both racing and bashing and both my motor and spped control are cool enough to touch (i run the intellect 4200 and the dtx 4200 both 7.2) i know there are better motors out there but for the price and the quality its worth it oh but dont let the motor over heat like not even once our you'll trash it trust me. a lot of people i know run the novak 8.5 gtb setup on their slashs and the vxl is a 10.5 but we are all geared the same in a straight line the gtb is better but on track they cant touch me but i am a better driver anyway the point is i think it is worth it. plus i think traxxas might still have a promotion that you can trade your vx-5? and titan 550 in for a vxl but you pay 100 us for it, something to look into.

either way 1:10 or 1:16 this question would get more hits and better responses if asked in the off road area

this forum is for the 1/16th scale so big difference in 10th vs 16th scale questions [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
and this is the correct place for people to be asking questions about 16th scale cars and trucks!
