Mini T Steering Servo
We have 2 Mini T's. It seems they are going through steering servos at a high rate. Matter of fact they both need replacement now. I took them apart and could not find any bad gears so it must be somewhere else in the unit.
Question is, does anyone else have this problem? If so what is the cause and the fix, besides keep buying more Losi Servos....
Thanks
Gary

most often the problem with the stock mini servo has to do with either the servo motors wearing out over time, they are CHEAP so they shouldn't be expected to last forever, or the gears themselves stripping, which is also a common malady with the cheap servos supplied in RTR cars and trucks. the other thing is that people often have the steering fully dialed to maximum throw or reach so as to turn the tightest corners, but this puts a lot of strain on the servo and often leads to premature failure. one bump or bad landing will kill a servo. personally, I never have mine adjusted for more than maybe 80%.
or it is that the cheap ESC/rx combo has supplied a voltage burst that blew out the servo, or that the ESC/rx combo itself is bad. again, $100 RTRs are cheap and come supplied with cheap electronics. the thing most people to is to upgrade to better quality aftermarket electronics.
i see you have another discussion going on the topic, and hopefully you can solve your dilemna by spending a few bucks
