Bought MERV on ebay
Hi guys,
I've been looking at the MERV for a while and decided to take a gamble on ebay. I think I got a pretty good deal, aside from rear RPM arms and steel CVD's, it has pretty much all the parts I wanted to upgrade anyway.
Stock radio, esc, motor
3 stock batteries and a LiPo (not a big deal as I'll be running my own LiPos, but nice to have some packs I don't care as much about... and finnally a reason to use my old pro-peak charger again)
Front RPM arms
Dirt Hawg's all around
Traxxas aluminum shocks
Traxxas aluminum turnbuckles
Bunch of other misc aluinum upgrades
Not bad for $240 in my opinion, certainly cheaper than me buying the car and then upgrade myself. What do you guys think?
I plan on adding ream RPM arms, maybe a T-bone skidplate/bumpers, center differential and some steel CVD's.
It's yet to arrive yet, but pics had it looking in decent shape.

Got it today, starting to think this might have been a bad idea.... Mechanically it's great, just a little worn in and dirty. I installed a center diff with no problems.
For some reason, it cogs bad, randomly. It'll run fine, run fine, cog. IT doesn't seem to exit the cogging unless I power off and power on.

Mini E-Revo (Merv).
You can find a lot of great info and what other Merv owner's are upgrading on the Official Mini-Revo Thread.

If you are running Dirt Hawg tires (especially with beadlocks) and have alot of aluminum upgrades you might consider lowering your gear ratio to eliminate heat issues, which is a common issue with the Merv. I have upgraded the entire suspension, which has a lot less slop than the stock parts, which has helped in the handling and performance. RPM A-Arms, Traxxas Aluminum Tie-Rods, Toe-Rods, Shocks, CVDs, HR hubs....

RE: Bought MERV on ebay
I've decided to completely overhaul the truck. The chassis is pretty beat up and filthy, mostly cosmetic damage but it's ugly to me. the wheels are stock with dirt hawgs, but are cracked and damaged.
Previous owner is running a lot of aluminum parts; traxxas tie rods, steering setup, knuckles, motor mount, shock mounts... All the traxxas red or this ugly knockoff burgundy. I'm going to get those stripped and then anodized black.
Here's the gameplan;
-New chassis, battery trays, etc...
-New T-bone brace and bumpers
-New Dish wheels (brand undecided yet, a few options). Dyed black.
-Re anodize all existing aluminum parts black.
-Replace servo with HS-82MG and waterproof it.
-New proline shell custom painted, probably a blacked out monster theme.'
I'll take a bunch of pictures of the car as is, and start a new thread when I begin the rebuild after finals in a few weeks.
