DTX Vendetta SC brushless question
I just got a Vendetta SC and really like it so far. I have a Mamba Micro ESC and 6800kvmamba brushless motor i want to put on the Vendetta. But it looks like i need a different spur gear because the shaft on the stock VR3 motor is bigger then the one on the Castle motor. I cant just use a RC18 spur gear either because it looks like the teeth won't mesh up with the drive gear on the Vendetta. So do i need a completely different brushless motor or is there a spur gear that fits on the smaller shaft of the mamba motor which would mesh up with the Vendetta's drive gear?

RE: DTX Vendetta SC brushless question
Your confused.
The gear that goes on the motor shaft is the pinion gear, not the spur. The gear on the drive shaft is the spur gear.

CC motor is 1/8th shaft, pinions are .6 mod, 48 pitch metric. Standard in that pitch is 1/8th inch.

The castle motor is a 2mm motor shaft where the vendetta vr3 motor is a 2.3mm shaft.
The toyz sales the pinions you are looking for.
You will need to gear down alot for that motor and heat will still be a issue more than likely.

Ha Ha sorry about callin it a spur gear. It makes no sense to call it a pinion gear... I would call the gear that drives the diffs the pinion gear... sorry just used to building real trucks lol.

RE: DTX Vendetta SC brushless question
Pinion is on the motor shaft, spur gear is connected directly to the drivetrain. In the dettas case, its on the driveshaft.Big one is the spur, little is the pinion.
Id start from a 12 and go from there.

RE: DTX Vendetta SC brushless question
Yeah just makes no sense to me thats rc uses the term pinion for that gear.. a pinion gear in a car or truck drives the ring gear and a pinion gear in a car or truck is always helical cut.. in rc the "pinion" is straight cut.
But anyways im done on that subject lol..
So the best solution would be a 380 can brushless motor eh? Oh and why isnt there a oficial Vendetta SC thread yet?

Your motor should be fine. Why do ya need a new one?[sm=50_50.gif]
Yeah i got confused on the pinion part when i was new as well.Quite a bit different than a 1:1 car.
Who knows?Lol.Might be good to start one yourself eh?
EDIT-
Really?What motor is it?
http://www.castlecreations.com/produ..._pro-cm26.html
Correct?
Than no, the pinions wont.[&o]

That link...IS the motor you have right?
If it is, the ones I linked will work.If its not, than they wont work and you have to find others.
EDIT:
Ah, makes sense.
I looked and cant find ANY 2mm mod .8's have you checked the toyz?Someone said they have em.

RE: DTX Vendetta SC brushless question
Sorry guys, But i have to stop the madness befor somebodyblows acircuit.
Castle uses the2mm shaft same as the ezrun 20mm can stuffbut who uses what is not important right at this moment.
The pinion/motor gear you speak of can be found here.
http://www.rcatomic.com/atomic/index...emart&Itemid=1
The toyz used to carry them but i cant find them on there anymore.
The vendetta series uses a .06 / 48p metric pinions and only those will work .
Hope this helps and clears somethings up.

To solve all your problems buy an ammo 28-35-3900 motor. It is 380 size and uses a 3.2mm shaft. You can use Robinson Racing 48P metric pinion gears. Your SC will goe twice as fast as it does with the Mamba 6800Kv.
