Losi 1/24 micro sct 4wd. I had the 1/36 micro raminator and when i heard that losi was coming out with a 4wd, i sold it and got the sct. I have absolutely no regrets.

RE: $100 budget, whats the best micro?
I was in the same situation as you. I just put $20 with it and got a ZD racing 1/16 scale truck. If you don't abuse it, it is very tough. It goes about 25mpg out of the box and comes with a brushless motor lipo out of the box. A couple of RC magazines did reviews of it and they both were very good. It cost $119.99 on Amainhobbies.com. And you can actually drive it outside in the grass and on real tracks unlike the extremely small RC trucks. There are youtube vids of it if you are interested. Also parts can be found at amainhobbies and MRC.

RE: $100 budget, whats the best micro?
ok. i googled it and i found two things: for the win and f**k the world. i like for the win better.
i changed my mind. do you think micro desert truck or micro crawler? |
RE: $100 budget, whats the best micro?

|
RE: $100 budget, whats the best micro?

RE: $100 budget, whats the best micro?

|
RE: $100 budget, whats the best micro?
i have xmods. there slightly upgradable, and parts are becoming harder to find since they stopped making them. with a couple mods, there quick little buggers. but im looking to get something along the lines of 1/18th scale to add to my collection lol

ORIGINAL: i luv duct tape ok. i googled it and i found two things: for the win and f**k the world. i like for the win better. i changed my mind. do you think micro desert truck or micro crawler? Out of those two, I would get the crawler.... No micro is going to be *fast*..... so you might was well get the crawler :D... I had a micro-t... I thought it was really fast when I drove it inside... then I took it outside....[:@] so slow.... lol.... I got mad at losi and sold it when the raminator version was announced a week after I bought my micro-t :(... (didn't buy the raminator either... otherwise they never learn, right  ) |
RE: $100 budget, whats the best micro?
im gonna go to my lhs soon and get the micro crawler and my dad is gonna get the micro high roller.but the lhs is kind of far so when i make it there will depend on when were in the area.
should be fun. thanks guys for the help |
RE: $100 budget, whats the best micro?
Cool... hope you dont plan on racing your dad :D... Did you go check out some youtube vids of the two? I did say in my last post that all micros are slow, but the micro crawler is much slower than the micro high roller.... Like I said, personally, I would get the crawler, but If i had someone to drive with me, I would want them to both have similar performance.... the high roller is going to go faster, but the crawler is going to be able to handle rougher terrain, so you wont really be able to drive together much.... which that is, depends on what kind of terrain you have to drive on.... if you have a big open indoor room, two micro high rollers would be a blast, same if you have an outdoor area thats NOT deep grass... about 1" deep grass is about the limit for these little guys.... If you dont have either of those, the crawler will probably be more fun, as you can set up little course's using stuff around the house or little rocks outside....
See if the hobby shop will let you drive bothe before you decide.... |
RE: $100 budget, whats the best micro?
I think you would be better off buying 2 Losi SCT,s. They are more capable than micros and you can run them in far more places than a micro. A micro is harder to work on and up grades are a little bit harder. I have a buggy that is 1/36 scale and it is good fun but not as much as the 1/24 monster truck or my other 1/28 scale vehicles. A lot of the 1/24 scale vehicles run on AA or AAA batteries and that is a fantastic thing I can assure you. Batteries are then a lot cheaper and with the AA batteries in a buggy or whatever, are the same as the transmitters so all you have is a stack of AA batteries. Chargers for Nimh AA batteries are cheap and charge time is only an hour. So with a hanful of AA batteries you are off for a day of fun.

RE: $100 budget, whats the best micro?
definitely get the Losi 1/24 4WD. It is awesome and the 4WD makes it way easier to drive.
Perfect for indoor, like a living room. If you have hardwood floor, 4WD is perfect, drifting is really fun. I actually took out the front dog bone on my 1/24 SCT 4WD just to experiment, I could barely drive properly on the slippery hardwood floor. So I can't imagine how the 1/36th 2WD cars would handle! |
RE: $100 budget, whats the best micro?
Losi Micro SCT or Rally. You can't go wrong and you won't be disappointed.
