ORIGINAL: Zoocity Good luck, i just bashed the car i bought instead of the XS and it broke. What car did yoiu buy and break? |
RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
A sparrowhawk XT. its a blast and handles real well, but i barely nicked a curb and found the weak point : the rear hubs.
|
RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
Looks nice, but a little too low to the ground for me.
|
RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
i adjusted the shocks, and it rides high but i can't flip it.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
Well that was a short bashing session.... One run away XS's full throttle into a brick wall and the other one suffered front axle damage.
|
RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
That doesn't sound good. What happened?

It was my fault as to the bent axle I landed one to many 5ft jumps on that side. But hey it ain't no fun if you don't break something right........ Still a hell of a lot better basher than the Mini Revo could ever dream of being.... |
RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
HPI really made a mistake with how the front uprights go together. They should have used screws to hold them together instead of pins that I can't get out.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
ORIGINAL: nitrohawker I don't know about a $75 off but I know there is $50 off $300 out there. I used one when I ordered mine. I added 2 four packs of batteries to get my total over $300. The club price on the truck is $294.99 so factor that in too. Any chance you could share the code? I sogned up for the SS club today and paid the fee, but so far they haven't sent me anything. I'm assuming it will show up eventually but I really want to get this thing on order... |

The pins marked with the red arrows are the ones I can't get out.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
Still on the fence.
I cant decide between the Flux XS or the 1/16 Summit. Here are the pros and cons in my opinion. my opinions on speed and stability are based on running on 2s and not 3s. Summit Pros Water proof Available in my area. lol Looks better Has more ground clearance easier to work on then the Flux Plenty of hop ups available Summit cons small electronics including the motor and servo. flips more but I can sacrifice stability for ground clearance., Flux XS pros. I think it's faster than the Summit Durable. water proof 1/10 scale electronics including motor and steering servo. Flux XS cons. Not available in my area right now. Very new to market and it will take a while for aftermarket parts and that will only happen depending on sales. More difficult to work on that the Summit Less ground clearance Doesn't look as good to me |

If you guys want to talk about the Tower coupons start a new thread. Please..........

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
I have the flux xs and a mini revo-summit (mini revo with summit rockers and wheels 1/10 scale castle cm36 4600 on it) and yes the flux xs is faster stock out of the box and it a lot more stable a lot less flipping. It's really a tough choice as both are great little trucks but I actually think I like my flux xs a little better. Also I think they are both fairly easy to work on, and another pro for the flux xs is full sized batteries.

Well, the money was burning a hole in my pocket so I went out and got a mini Summit. I like it a lot, although the suspension is really soft right out of the box. It will need some thicker shock oil for sure. It was surprisingly fast and torquey on one 6 cell nimh.
As soon as the Flux becomes available in my area, I will get one of those as well. That way, my son and I can take turns seeing who's the best:D Well, typical RCUniverse is having trouble with pics again so here you go http://mfi.re/imgbnc.php/e0a9724fadd...62bb75be4g.jpg |

Any word on when the next batch of XS's are shipping and if they did anything different with the ESC's?

Get over it, every post in every thread is never going to be "EXACTLY" on topic. and complaining about it won't help either. That is the last I will say about it. |
RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
ORIGINAL: Johnbalz Any word on when the next batch of XS's are shipping and if they did anything different with the ESC's? Tower is keeping the date as Late Sept. From what I understand the esc doesn't have a problem unless you run 3s. Is that right? And I believe from a review video I saw, 3s is entirely unnecessary. |
