1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
I have been into monster trucks and stadium trucks for 5 years and i came accross a mini nitro buggy at the hobby store, it was a sport werks chaos, is this a good buggy? im not a n00b so i know how 2 fix them and tune the engines, i have 2 revos and 1 rc10gt and a jato 3.3, or how about this one http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXNYV5&P=ML ? are they any good? whats the best nitro 1/16 buggy or truggy? tell me what you think, i have a spending range of 250-275 bucks

RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
The best one is the kmi 09, it's out of your price range though. The chaos seems to be ok, but I have never had one. Almost did, but didn't.

RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
can these 1/16 nitro buggies handle jumps well? these ate 250 bucks...i can get a gt2 for that... I'm having trouble deciding

RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
1/16th nitro are nothing but trouble. With a chaos/IRC Vulcan you will spend more time just getting it to start then actually being able to run it. If you do get it to start they will stall randomly and refuse to start untill they are cool again.

mmm...gt2...
|
RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
The only good ones are the Rascal and mini inferno 09, and parts support will be difficult for most with those vehicles.
|
RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
Still waiting to hear when glow plugs will be avail for the 09. darn it!

RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
I own a vulcan SE its awsome, but I do have a new SH .07 motor and 2-speed tranny. I'm still breaking it in. This motor is suppose to run 30000 rpm. It starts flawlessly.

RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
Mine use to start and run flawless untill after i got done breaking it in. Now it usually wont even start

RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy

RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
Parts support for the Rascal is no longer an issue: www.Schumacher-RC.com ;)

RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
The Trinity Next looks good. I am thinking about getting one.
|
RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
For the price of the next, I would get a rascal.

RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
personally i think the advantage of 4wd with the next along with hop ups avaible for it through both trinity and IRC includign a better engine, and a 2speed transmission ouutweigh the fac that the rascal has a larger engine. the next is actually faster in stock form too, the NEXT goes 31.5 and the rascal goes 27 (according to rc driver and rcca) im enjoying my NEXT and i believe it was money well spent.

According to this the Rascal goes 40 MPH. I am defiantly leaning toward the NEXT, it looks and sounds like a great vehicle.IMO |
RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
I didn't realize the price was that much higher. I still wouldn't get either of these. I would get the kni if i had the choice. And since the next is trinity, I think it will be junk. I never have liked trinity's offroad cars. THe onroads look better.

RE: 1/16th nitro buggy/truggy
the next is not trinity... its a rebadged IRC vulcan with truggy suspension/tires and a good engine. It got a great review on Rc Driver with the exception of a servo and diff gears. i have yet to encounter problems with either of these and ive been jumping it and running it hard to test its limits. GREAT car i suggest it to anyone.

GREAT car i suggest it to anyone. THAT is incorrect...... basically its like this. the company that makes the vulcan parts makes the TEAM VTX parts as well the TEAM VTX and the trinity NEXT are more alike then the VULCAN i know this because i OWN all threee (AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED THERE ALL REBADGED) check out my thread about the 3 cars... (Team VTX cost the same as the NEXT Personally i think the rascal is over priced. you can buy a 1/8 scale buggy for the same price. lol the TEAM VTX comes with A BUNCH more upgrades over the NEXt and the vulcan like METAL DIFS, 2-SPEED,TONS more LLOY parts. etc.. check out the thread link below.. [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4979633/tm.htm]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4979633/tm.htm[/link] Also the rascal isn't legal for any 1/16 racing for those that intend to do so... |
