RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
I was gonna order a Trinity NOW but would like to know what other accessories I need? I know the chargers that come with these are generally slow and crappy. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good quality, fast charger for lipos that I also might be able to use for my other cheapo toys (Blade CX heli, storm launcher, cheapo foamie flyers etc). Also what batteries should I pick up as spares for the Trinitynow? I know nothing about lipo batteries so please give me details on exactly which batteries and charger I should get from what website if possible. I would appreciate any help!! Sorry to be such a newbie!!

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
I got mine a couple days ago, and am somewhat disappointed with the build quality, but the truck itself and the components work well as a package, and this thing is definitely fast.
I have contacted Trinity and will get back to you guys after I have received a response from them on my issues. I am hoping that they handle it well. |

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
850r,
what is your budget for a charger? I sell a charger that lets you charge 2 packs at once and Balance them at the same time also. I can charge 2 pack in less then 1hr |
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
hey let me know how things go with trinity because i would like to get the things i am missing and a ftont shock as mine is bunk.

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
Definitely looks cool. Anyone got the dimensions of the battery holder... more specifically the length. If its 100mm+ then you have tons of options for lipos.
On a side note, the mamba 25 can take 4s lipos for a short period of time, but can't run 4s all day. If you drag race, 4s is possible since you only run the car for 10 seconds at a time. Tony Phalen set the mini speed record on a mamba 25/6800 and 4s lipos. As far as the motors go, I'd suggest a larger 24mm can like an Aon, Ammo 24mm series, or even a Wraith. The motor that included is already longer than a mamba by like 5mm, so going to a mamba would actually be a downgrade in power. If I buy this truck, the Aon 4900kv motor would be my choice for 3s. The wraith would be my choice for 2s. |

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
I just confirmed with Trinity the motor is a 4400kv motor.. I just orderd the 17T pinion for mine. make sit go about 60mph or more.. stock is 13T Trinity said they tried a 6800KV motor and it was insane fast. but run times drop to about 6-7minutes
with stock motor and 13T pinion 40mph 12minutes Stock motor 17T pinion 60mph 9-10 minutes Also If you change the Speedcontrol setting to Starting Power HIGH.. it gets rid of the lag at startup.. and more the timing to LOW.. that glitching on take off will dissappear |

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
I would suggest anyone buying one of these cars to also buy the Castle Link. The firmware on the Mamba esc might need to be upgrade to the newest version.
|
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
yeah the castle link makes it alot easier to program plus making those changes i recommend make a big difference

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
The bodies look like they were run into a wall!
|
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
What you trying to say I can't Drive??!?!
LOL |
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
No, just the way Trinity designed them to fit doesn't appeal to me at ALL. Trucks look very well built, front-end looks suspiciously like the Mini Inferno, other than the stock body, I like it.
|
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
I was J/K I thought they were damaged when I 1st got them
but the truck is very well made and handle Great and power is insane tommorow I will have video with stock 13t and the 17T one |
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
I would be interested in putting one through hell, but I want a kit or roller, as I don't need the Mamba :D

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
You guys are driving me nuts![sm=bananahead.gif] I ordered mine yesterday from Tower and my wife just called and said what did you order from Tower now. It's at work, but I'm stuck at home with the kids because it's Christmas break. AUUUGHHH! I guess I can wait a few hours but man it's hard not to order extras for it in the mean time.

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
For a lot of you thinking about buying one I would wait.. This seems to be the same deal as the Trinity NEXT.. When it first came out a lot of people were disappointed but a short time after Trinity worked things out. Just some food for thought;)

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
I haven't even gotten through a full battery pack, and it looks like I will have to place another order with Tower to get the parts I need. I have called every LHS and none have the Trinity parts I need, even though they share a part number with the NEXT. I would definitely wait for a little bit and let Trinity get the bugs out, hopefully they will.
Here was what I sent Trinity with my issues: I recently ordered one of the NOW's from Tower hobbies. After getting it and running it for a bit, I must say I am a bit disappointed in the overall build quality. Here are the issues that I have. I believe the front upright was broken out of the box, as it exhibited some strange handling, but I didn't notice it until the motor screws came loose and it slipped out of position. Now the motor uses phillips screws to locate the motor, which in some conditions would be fine, but where the motor is on this truck, they are BAD. There is no straight shot at them with a screwdriver, so in an attempt to get them in there tight, I am sure to strip them out. Why couldn't you use allen screws where I could get a nice ball end wrench in there to tighten to my hearts desire? I also noticed that the rear lower a arm is missing one of the e-clips, and that the front right axle is stripped. The body holes were not lined up quite right, the body required a fair amount of flex to get it on the mounting posts and I had to greatly enlarge the hole for the antenna because it was too far foward and off-center forcing the antenna tube to be pushed forward and to she side. My only other complaints are that the steering servo does not provide quite enough torque, although that may be related to the broken upright, and I would have greatly appreciated any other battery connectors over the Tamiya plugs (preferably Deans). Other than those complaints, I am really impressed by the amount of car that you offer at this price point. Thanks you for taking the time to consider my complaints. And here is the response I got back from them: I appreciate your concerns and opinions on our NOW. We are always looking for information to help better our product down the line. Regarding the motor screws, we use Phillips as this vehicle is sold world wide and Phillips is a standard world wide. not everyone uses Allen. You can replace the current motor screws with Allen style screws. Thank you ARGH, the one thing the decide to address in my complaints, they don't even give me a halfway decent answer. I call bull an the answer, because as I look the truck over, I see a few other allen screws. I may be parting it out on eBay here shortly. |
