RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
I purchase the Trinity Now almost a year ago. It ran great for approx 3 days and began to fall apart. The spur gears strip too easy and the rear diff is crap. I tried to buy replacement and upgrade parts for it and was on a 3 or 4 month waiting list. The customer service for trinity was no good either. I ended up purchasing an AE RC18T team kit and put an 8000kv Mamba Brushless set up in it. I have running the RC18T for over 8 months and have not had any problems. I am just upset that I did not purchase the RC18T first.[:o]

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
I assume those diff parts are for the nitro Mini Inferno 09ST ? Cause thosee are the ones you want , NOT the electric verision .
|
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
I believe the are for the gas version (didn't know they even had an electric version). We'll find out on Monday I guess.
|
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
Yeah the electric version has plastic geared diffs , but are the same dimensions as the nitro's
|
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
All the parts came today. Everything looks good however I forgot to order the Diff cases. Hopefully they will be here shortly.

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
Well, I am putting together my Kyosho diffs. The rear diff pinion on the trinity has a sleve on it that goes into the case bearing. The Kyosho spur gear has no sleeve, a stub connects to the gear and that goes into the bearing and exist the housing. Then on the kyosho you put a cup on that and it takes a dogbone. The shaft on the trinity will screw into the kyosho diff spur but it is way too small to fill the bearing.
Here is a comparrison between the 2. The one on top is the Trinity. http://www.stillsports.com/trinity/tdiff1.jpg Here is what the assembly looks like when the kyosho diff spur is on the trinity shaft. There is nothing for the bearing to ride on. http://www.stillsports.com/trinity/tdiff2.jpg How have people gotten around this? Did I miss it in the previous posts? |
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
Just found out one more thing about the Kyosho gears. They are chrome plated brass. Not steel.
|
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
crnook , you cannot use the Kyosho pinion you must use the Trinity pinion . Sorry , I should have mentioned that ...
|
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
Damn. The trinity pinion is what keeps stripping.

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
You are running your slipper too tight then , its very sensitive too adjustments , 1/16 turn either way and it will be too tight or too loose .
|
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
I have my slipper set very loose to try and combat this issue. It will slip until the car gets up to about half speed on the street. You can hear it slipping. I am surprised I have not burned it yet.
The shock of going over small bumps repeatedly while under power still strips the diff spur. I don't drive it on a track that is prepped and I am sure it would be fine in that arena. These just are not meant for backyard drivers I guess. I give up. I will keep the motor and battery and put them in another mini. The car is not worth the effort and trinity is worthless for support. If anyone wants the kyosho diff parts or a trinity roller drop me a line. |
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
well today i think i did something noone else has done before......i separated the front endbell of my motor from the rest of the motor........that made a god awful sound!!!
now my question is do i bother trying to warrenty it or should i get something different? suggestions are appreciated |
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
You guys still looking for part for you NOW and NEXT? Go to GoNitroOnline.com. the IRC Vulcan SE and electric counter part, parts interchange with Tirnity Now and Nex. Parts such as metal diffs. some part numbers even match. Example: rear pinion for NEXT TRI32008 (hard to find) is IRC-32008. The Vulcan is a Buggy and slightly shorter wheel base so center shafts will not work.Keep this thread going..... this is good. I'm going to try the Kyosho metal diff thing......

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
mine is in parts on the workbench (has been for a long time). I was in the middle of fitting the Kyosho diff's but had to throw it in the corner months ago. Lots of sanding to be done still to get the diffs to spin without binding. Now that the 1/16 erevo is due out it may never get back together.

RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
So it looks like they discontinued the motor mount for the NOW for some reason (probably because it is a flimsy POS) Does anyone have a replacement part number for it or preferably something stronger I could put on in its place?
|
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
Sorry , it looks like you might have too fabricate your own, or try Trinity direct , I used too buy parts from them all the time .
|
RE: Trinity Now 1st Impression
Well I did email trinity and they said
You might have to go to the local hobby shop and see if you can retrofit a part from another car. That manufacturer is out of business. Billy |
