RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
any other engine that would fit this truck?
|
RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
OS .18 with proper crank and carb...
|
RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
ORIGINAL: muck76 OS .18 with proper crank and carb... direct fit? any mod? |
RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
with the right crank engine, you will need the flywheel adapter CEN sells. that is it. Rest is direct. The carb is a slide carb.. Later today i will see if i can find the one needed. It has to have a crank that will take the flywheel plate behind the flywheel and enough threads to allow the adapter for the linger clutch.

RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
here is the engine.
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=OSMG2102&P=7 If you look on CEN Direct site under MG16 parts, you will see the adapter you need. I believe this engine would work fine.. maybe too much power. CEN also offers a .18 for the MG series... FYI |
RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
Do you guys know if CEN sells a set of common screws for this truck.some of the screws on my truck are starting to become pretty worn and I know I won't be able to find them at Home Depot.
|
RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
Not that i know, but i did find a company with some a while back. I'll see if i can find them again tonight.

RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
i like the tire and rim combo!
I may buy another one of these just to have a cheap good nitro. |
RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
screws
http://www.rcscrewz.com/product_info...oducts_id/2799 they are stainless instead of the black oxide... i personally like the oxide better but for the type of screw and truck i think these would be fine. |
RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
Etivac:That truck is looking sweet. Ithink I'm gonna put that fuel line cooling head protector on my truck as well.
Muck: Thanks for the link you're the man. Here are some pictures of my MG16 (really my son's truck but I use it just as mich as he does) BESTLITTLETRUCKONTHEMARKET http://i841.photobucket.com/albums/z...toSan/MG16.jpg MG16 and Jato after a run. http://i841.photobucket.com/albums/z...n/IMG_1871.jpg |
RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
no problem,
i like the jato |
RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
those fuel line can lessen the impact..but not enough protection...the cooling head already has cracks... i'm thinking of selling this since no LHS has parts for this... but i'm sill hesitant...i really like this little monster...:D

RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
I know what you mean about not being able to get parts. Its such a cool little truck though. It is very fast for its size and is a lot tougher than it looks.</p> |
RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
i bought my parts direct from CEN and got them in a very timely fashion.. There is an ebay member parting these too... maybe i should start LOL
|
RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
Muck, I read some of your other posts on this site and Ibelieve on another RCsite. You are the MG16 Guru. I saw that dual exhaust muffler mod and it was pretty clever.I did not do that to my truck as I was not too concerned with making it go faster. Idid however use JBweld on the thread to lock it shut (as suggested by a CENrep). It stopped the leaks right away.
This is my son's truck and it has more speed than he needs. He's only 7. I just bought an HPISavage and Istill find myself taking my son's remote and running the mg16. |
RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
thanks for the comments, i am far from a guru but i did have fun with it..
for a 7 year old, he has it made with this truck. I will say i did like the plug and play of the electric version of this.. I just wish CEN would have came out with a ME10... the only mod i wish i had tried would have been the CRT.5 pipe with the AE header. I think it would have been a handful then. The tires hitting when turning was my only concern... |
RE: OFFICIAL CEN MG16 THREAD
Hey Guys, I just bought a MG16 MT and was very happy to find this thread. I cant believe all the cool mods you guys are doing to these little things. Needless to say I'm jumping on the band wagon and need some advice and help finding some of the stuff I'll need.
1. The pull start has to go, will this bolt right up? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT 2. I want change the pipe and run it on the side anyone with atested header/pipe combo please post. AndI assume I will need wheel extenders so it will fitright? 3. Will the rustler camberlinks work onfrontand rear? 4. I love the wheel tire combo on etivac13's truck. any one know what they are or havelinks? 5. I gottahave the body that is on RCnut771's truck. Is the wing a add on? what is it anyone have a link for a clear unpainted one. and will I need the extended body poststo make it work. Thanks for any info you have and for all the info I have already gotten from these pages. Muck76 you rock! |

Itsa Pro-Line 1/16 Revo body. You needthe long body mounts and is a little narrow, it rubs the radio box some.
