Great News From Mr. Cyclon !!!
He sounds pretty excited....[X(]!!! About what, I'm not sure.....
He might be talking about a constant current ignitor...I've got plans for one that Bob Carver drew up at least 20 years ago.
I just got a kick out of the translator and the method for which thoughts organized, we.
Hi colleague!
I have a new best production of electronic !
Small with a pin for the candles glow with a processor protect glow plugs from burnout.
Savings glow plugs 30-50%
How many times have you seen this painting - a spiral like a whole but is not lit ?
We have uncovered the secret of this situation !!!!
This is the result of uncontrolled variations in the current applied to the candle when you start the engine and adjust the mode! Wire coil resistance varies with changes in its temperature. And with a constant current source from the battery - changing current! And the model is already flies from burned-helix!
And as luck would have it. Maybe just "empty" spiral into the piston, and pushed his way of it.
Helix could hear the balls right up to the bearing!
And now, these problems do not!
This pin processor protection, cost only the price of 10 glow plugs !
During the season of flights this crap keeps 50-100 plugs ! Super!
And on sale! Please ask me.
Best regards,
Aleksandr Kalmykov

RE: Great News From Mr. Cyclon !!!
not from Novosibirsk....
Why anyone would want to work/live there is beyond me. Of course, it's probably one of the only places in Russia (yeah, I know they don't call it that anymore) that can handle that kind of manufacturing being that it is the heart of their high-tech military industrial belt but the cold alone would turn me off as a worker.
The Norvel plant was unheated in the winter too...

Isn't close tolerance machine work supposed to be done in temperature controlled areas?
I looked up Novosibrsk once and it sounded like some place Bud Grant would have liked to set up training headquarters for his Minnesota Vikings.

He would only move the team there if there was good duck hunting relatively close by. Perhaps a Norvel powered duck model could have been used to lure him there.

I love it, is this a Babelfish or other online translation job? I can hear the balls now..
A current source driver is not exactly a ground-breaking invention. My oldest brother and dad were both electronics wizards and tireless shop-tinkerers, and built me an adjustable current-regulating panel in the mid 1970's that worked flawlessly for years.

Is this the same Cyclon that sells the brushless motors now?

Speaking of which, I just paid $5 a pop for some 20mm in-runners on FeeBay. Obviously they aren't NeuMotors, but on 3 lipos they spin a 4.5-4.1 at 25k and pull 23A. Very fast considering....

DD, I'm kind of sad to hear that. I figured Aleksandr might have branched out into electrics. Imagine how much more that would pay the rent?
Your motor combo sounds pretty good, plus no crying if something goes KABLOOIE.!!

VG, there's going to be a whole generation of ex-control line combat guys making that last flight pretty soon. I wonder how many of those old Cyclons end up in the landfills instead of ebay?
Go through DG if you want the best price, or haggle with Mr. Cyclon via email. If all you're after is something real close, if not just as good, go for a Fora.

I just read through the information on the top04, and near the end I read this: ...and disperses model at the end of motor flight more strongly.
I may have a poor understanding of english, but to me it sounds like you don't need to pick things up in a bag anymore after a poor landing, it is simply evenly dispersed all over the field.

RE: Great News From Mr. Cyclon !!!
I've had my share of mishaps with the Cyclon and Fora, had an engine rip loose and vanish, had bad launches, radio equipment failures.......but never have had one of those crashes where you need a shovel to dig out the engine or a vacuum cleaner to pick up all the little pieces.

RE: Great News From Mr. Cyclon !!!
You're just not trying hard enough CP. I learned to fly CL on asphalt. Never need the shovel, but the vacuum would have come in real handy.
Now RC on the other hand, I've needed a small garden trowel, an occasional rake, and once even, a snorkle.
Obviousely you are not pushing the envelope enough. I suggest wingspans of no more than 12" for the Fora, that should introduce you to some new gardening tools

Put it this way, I just got a set of bearings for John's new Songbird2 twin to replace the ones he trashed in his Astro brushless 05's.
The price at my local bearing supply house was $11 and change EACH. I could have bought him 9 new motors and he could have saved a few ounces!

Actually that glow ignitor looks pretty good. I like using lipos for that application and it seems to be designed for them. I need to get a hold of one of those Top04 1cc engines some day.

The engine you want is a Top3 if he can still supply the motors with that case. Performance wise they are identical, but with the Top3 you can slip a CS tuned pipe on the exhaust stub. Your ears will thank you for it regardless of what it does for the engine-the Cyclons are easily the most painful engines I have ever heard.

I can't vouch for my Profi .061 yet, but my understanding is that they are better than the Cyclons, particularly with larger props. IIRC, they are $125 from TechnoHobby.
