Cox .049 Killer Bee & Heavy Duty Diesel cranks are now available
Finally, our Heavy Duty cranks have arrived!
They are manufactured to OEM Cox Killer Bee specs but have been hardened to withstand 30,000+ RPM as well as Diesel “knock”. Here is a link to the product.

Has anyone tried these cranks yet? I'm in the market for one after busting a crank on a diesel. I knew it was a matter of time, but I needed to try my experiment. I think the engine I have is a car crankcase with the thicker front end. Looks like it should fit.

Greg,
If you do indeed have a car crankcase,
the Cox International crank may not fit.
Many of the gear drive car engines have a larger
id case and larger od crank than the standard ones.
If your driving a prop, all you'll need is a new
standard case and regular prop plate to go with
the "killer" crank. Not too costly if you want to go new.
Maybe Bernie will chime in with more advice.
I'm anxious to try one of the new cranks myselfe.
Tell us more about the experiment.
Good luck.
Bob
If you need the case and drive plate, e-mail and I'll
send them. I have a few new ones I'm not using.
Freebie of course!

It's good to see these cranks. Problem is your not going to get a "ball socket" type piston /rod assembly to servive very long when deiselised or run much over 20,000 RPM. If I were doing either I'd be reseting every other run.

Running it as a diesel doesn't affect the conrod-piston fit, as far as I have noticed, it is high revs that can speed up the process.
