Default Cox Babe Bee .049 Manual Picture

Does anyone have a scan of a Babe Bee 049 (5cc tank?) manual? I have every other one but that. I have NEVER seen one before when I think about it.

It should look like all the older ones, specifically with the mounting dimensions and parts list like I put up for the .020. Hipple's site does not have it.

I have been trying to gather and clean up all of the manuals with mechanical artwork to them where the engine is dimensioned. All of the Tee Dee's, Medallions and all the older ones.

Still do not know if there is a dimension sheet for the 049 plastic backplate??? It is not a square pattern, I know that for sure.

I discovered by measuring myself the Space Bug with Tank is the same pattern as a Babe Bee.

I also do not have dimensions for the three-hole pattern on the Thermal Hopper, I've only seen where the angle is specified.

These are helping me machine build my own test stand.

Thanks!

Hello,
I think a Golden Bee or the Black Widow would give the data you are looking for, try looking for them. I also think you are correct, I have never seen a data sheet for the Baby Bee engine.

Nice work!

Does anyone now of any screws that fits well for mounting the BabeBee and/or the PeeWee?
I'm always struggling to find screws of the right diameter and with a small enough head to not interfere with the tank. Regular wood screws can be made too fit but often the head needs to be turned down.

Thats the point where I am right now is shopping for mounting screws. So far I can only say it is a #3 for the Babe Bee holes and size #2 for the Pee Wee. Cheese head or Phillips to stay with the smaller head size. Pan heads are larger.

Mounting lugs on the Tee Dee 049/051 is drilled for a #3 screw.

Thanks Matt, I just got around to seeing what you contributed. Perfect!

MrC -

Do you want wood screws or cap screws that can be used with a blind nut? The actual size is, I believe, an English #3 for the .049. A #3x48 socket head cap screw should work OK. Head diameter is .161" . Another option would be either the #2 or #3 socket head servo mounting screws - some have a washer head, but it could be easily ground down to fit nicely.

I use those socket head servo screws too. They work great.

jetpack,

Glad it was what your were after! I believe I have similar layouts for the Black Widow, QRC, and Sure Start.

Mr Cox,

I'm a little biased since we sell these, but I like the #2 Pan Head sheet metal screws 5/8".
