What to do with a plane after you fly the wings off of it .
This is from a 1949 Popular Mechanics magazine . This would be a good use for those 1/2A fusalages that are no longer airworthy. It would need a throttle control . I like how they changed the rudder to a fish tail shape for water use .
This site may waste a few hours of your time .

I lost the wing once mid-flight and it came down very gently, with barely a scratch on it, it was the fuse that took all the impact while rotating down like an arrow into the ground...
So what does one do wing a set of spare wings...?

Spare wings are great, you can use them to build a new fuselage or something. usually peopel like building fuselages but they tend to not like building wings. So it puts you a big step ahead then.

I actually like building the wings, it is very quick to do and one can easily transform an oldschool rudder and elevator model into something more modern. To me the hard work is making the fuselage, doing all the installation and fuelproofing etc...

Unless you have unlimited 'storage' space ( I don't anymore :-)
There's an fine opportunity for a bit of "Model Baseball":.. to try and bash it out of the field for a home run.
Surprisingly satisfying too :-).

A friend of mine (famous combat flier from Detroit) put a couple handles on a foam wing (which he normally uses for flying combat), and used it as a "sail" when skating on frozen lakes. He said you could go real fast travelling crosswind, and you could tack upwind like a sailboat. The rangers chased him off the ice once or twice for going real fast.
