Default Sterling Corsair Plans

I am wondering if anyone would happen to have a copy or a scan of the plans for the the Sterling FS 36 Corsair? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Joe

I have a complete kit N.I.B. that I got in a trade a while back. I've no desire to sell the kit for any reasonable price, but I would be willing to have the plans scanned and/or printed. Would this work for you?

A scan would be great. But the biggest issue with the plans is the formers are not on them. So they have to be traced, Im not sure if I feel comfortable asking someone to do that with a new kit they plan on keeping.

What I have done in that situation is put the die-cut (crushed in the case of the Sterling kit) sheets on a copy machine and make copies, then verify the machine made the copy 100% and no distortion.

if you could do that i would be more than happy to compensate you for your trouble! An actual copy or a pdf would be awesome!

I just bought a high-res scanner but it never occurred to me to use it that way. Great idea. I'll play with it in the next day or two and post the results. I'll start by scanning a ruler. That will make it easy to check for size distortion.

I tried scanning some sheet balsa parts. It works pretty well with less distortion than I would have guessed. Here's a scan of a former from my Saitta Komet. 1/8" lite ply. Judge for yourself whether or not this will work for you.

The image in my previous post was produced using the "scan" mode. After printing it, I laid the part on top of the print. Close, but still some distortion. Scanning the part using the "copy" mode set on "actual size" was dead-nuts-on. I couldn't detect any distortion by laying the original part on top of the printed part. My bandsaw skills are probably not up to the accuracy of this scanner/printer, and are therefore the limiting factor. The next time I build an out-of-production kit, everything will get scanned as I go. Easy, too. Put the part on the glass, hit the "copy" button and that's it. Thanks to Ripplewave for a great idea.

Maybe if you a colored sheet behind the part it will outline the entire piece?

Thanks to everyone, I have found an electronic version of the plan. They are now posted on hippocketaeronautics.com.

For anyone interested in this bird, after posting this I acquired a kit (on my short build list) and I came across other resources for this plane:

Here is a short laser cut kit: http://lazer-works.com/misc.html

I posted the pdf files for the plans and parts here: http://www.hippocketaeronautics.com/....php?cat_id=60

Hip pocket is a great resources for plans and their forum is great as well. You will need to register to gain access to the plans.

Thanks to everyone for your help!
