Default OS .25FP??

I've read on here that you can put a FP.40 carb on the .25. How much does that improve performance? The FP series I'm told is a good sport engine not so much performance?

You can install the .40 size throttle barrel in the .25 FP carb. Also add that one piece black muffler from Macs, and run a 9-4 APC or MAS prop. This was the sweet setup on the early scale combat models. This will add around 1,000 rpm

I use the .40 FP throttle barrel in my .20 FP and it is a strong runner with good fuel draw.

16,900 on 10% Omega with muffler pressure. My engine is the older version with the iron piston and steel liner.

This setup will get you over 16,000 rpm. It is a great mod. The venturi size in the stock carb is really small. You can even drill out the stock barrel if careful. Another mod is to set the back nut on the high speed needle to move the spray bar back out of the venturi. May get you up to 17,000. Fun engine to play with. Lots of potential. I think there were some posts on the RCCA website describing all these mods. A mouse can muffler might even help you more. Not sure at what point they redline though. All engines seem to have a point where they let go. The FP was not designed to rev up super high.
What is this application for?

The only bad thing is that I can't find a stock needle anymore. All sold out. I guess the .25 LA uses a plastic carb... so where do I find another needle for the .25 FP? My student is kind of tough onmy equipment.... AND... is this the .40 LA carb you're talking about?

Looking to put it on a Sig Cobra. It calls for a .19-.25. I have a new FP25 and a FP40. Can't put the 40 on it.

My buddy put the FX .25 in his this week. Its really tight and was pretty nose heavy. Theres not alot of room to move battery and receiver around. Also the servos are set back pretty far. But the engine compartment is really tight with a .25 not mention the additional weight of a .40.
