Pic of my 1/2 oz. plastic Fuel Tank! Easy!
Howdy all!
I found a source for a manufacturer that makes plastic bottles. I ordered 4 each 1/2 ounce bottles to be used with my TD .020's. They sell for 60 cents a piece. All ya do is cut the bottle neck off and you can use a regular fuel tank stopper on it. Imagine a leak proof plastic fuel tank! Pictured is the 1/2 oz. tank next to a sulivan 1 oz. tank. The fuel stopper from the 1 oz. tank fits perfectly!. My TD .020 will now run about 5-1/2 minutes!

RE: Want a 1/2 oz. plastic Fuel Tank? Heres How
No Prob Frank.
Glad to help. I got tired of using the little perfect metal tanks, and the tanks that come with TD .010's and .020's just don't offer enough run time. I am building a little .020 size low wing stick and need a nice leak proof tank that will let my engine run about 4-5 mins. These little bottles work good and can use the available fuel tank stoppers from your local hobby shop. You can even fit your tank with a clunk.

I like Combats version of the balloon tank.
The brass pickup tube with drilled holes to keep sucking till dry.
The Vinyl Glove fingers cut off and Ty wraped seem 30 % fuel proof.

Nice work, HEC! Makes me wonder if the fuel tank company gets their bottles from the same place? That's a great price, I don't think you can do better than nalgene. The only thing I would do different here, is use hard plastic lines that are heat formable, instead of brass.

Howdy all,
I am glad to see all the responses to this thread. When I first posted I only got a few hits on it 3 years ago. See post date. The little tanks work great. CP, I wish I had of tried a hard plastic tube. I bet it works great.
