Well, I'm pretty bummed out. Due to some circumstances beyond my control, Nick and I will not be making the trip to Wrightsville this year. Man, I really needed a SMALL "fix".

Rats, TeeBee... was hoping to do some .010 pylon racing with you!
I plan to be there late Thursday night with my dad and get to the field on Friday morning. Still woefully unprepared, work has been a m@#$^!f@&%$!* the last few weeks. Really want to bring the 1/2A LMH-100 helipcopter, lot of work to do on it to get it back into shape. Gonna try to bring a discus launched glider too butthat needs repairs as well.[

I will be there Wednesday. Looks like I'll be playing with other people's airplanes : ( My car just died & I'm down to riding the BMW; can't pack many toys on it.

Well guys, I/we won't be making it down. I drove all my stuff over to me dad's last night and we got into an argument loading his car. I'll spare you the details but suffice to say we agreed we had a misunderstanding about the trip, and he for some reason thought we would have needed to talk about how to pack the car 2 weeks prior. As the discussion went on I could start to see how the trip was going to play out and that made it easy for me when he pulled the "then we aren't going" card. Things are always on his terms and his terms only, been that way since he asked me to move out here 20 years ago, I don't know why I thought this would be any different.
I'm bummed, tired, and ticked off at all the money I spent this past month getting airplanes I haven't flown in years ready. I burned up 3 vacation days for nothing too. Well, I've got a few cool airplanes to fly until Tuesday, at least.

I'm sorry to hear that, Dave. I hope you can reconcile the differences with your dad. I'm not at SMALL because my dad is having terrible health issues and is in the hospital. I'm trying to help him and my mother reason with some sudden and major life changes due to his health. Keep your family close, friend.

This does not appear to be the year for several of us...
Turns out my two boys that were going to make the trip w/ me (Nathan and Andrew) have the EOG's (End of Grade tests) pushed out one week... placing them this week. We are all bummed
May have been for the best, my father is also in the hospital getting stints put in place - 3 blocked arteries (95%).
Everyone out there take pics... curious to see who and what is flying.

There was about 3-4 inches of water in most of the parking lot north of the club building that morning after the big storm and very little standing water elsewhere.. Shallow puddles here and there. At one point during the night, the water in the north pit area was at least 4 inches deep, based on the high water marks left on the tent poles...We have a great float fly for a while until the parking lot drained...5 float planes were operating at one point.
Sunday was wonderful weather. My wife gave me an extension on getting home and I flew until after 3pm

Ran across this picture of the Seaplane fly in we had at SMALL over in the parking lot of the FARM field.... That is Randy Rogers in the Picture, who was a returnee this year after a long hiatus. He was at some of the Pumpkin patch SMALL events back in the late 1980s.
