Hi skaliwag,

Check out your local Craft Brewery. (water, grain, yeast, hops)
I'll bet they are busy too!
I am lucky to have several LHSs to spend my money.
Picking through balsa racks is my 'other' hobby !

MJD, They know I have a list. Every LHS I've been to, has something I want!
And, are more than willing to order what I want, for me.

Ever since 'childhood' , I have 'put away' every week some money. Hobby money. For me, one day, to enjoy.

Back then, money was hard. Now, time is expensive.

I still think building is half of the fun, flying model airplanes.
(And they have to carry at least one #64 rubber band aloft ! ! !)

Cheers my Friends,

Take care,
Have fun,

The #64 rubber band. A true staple of a successful modeling career.

Whoo Hoo!

My LHS got a (Thanks Bernie!) Cox International piston reset tool ! Within a week !
Way better than the lost gr.9 Machine Shop one I made! ! ! Sweet !

Asking Santa for some 50% Nitro Fuel for Christmas...

Just thinking about 1/2A C/L Proto makes me 'dizzy'...

Where, can I put the #64 rubber band???

Cheers my Friends,

Take care,
Have fun,

Use the rubber band to hold the lines on the reel when you are finished flying. I started up my 1/2A Proto yesterday with the CS motor from around 1990. It was running about 20,000 rpm. I made a new Turbo plug head for it and it went 27,000. Another GZ (newer model of the CS) only got 21,000, up from 17,000 but not too good. I want to make an F2D proto speed like in the Northwest. They use old combat motors which rev up to 30,000 rpm no problem. I have no place to fly them except maybe Niagara Falls. 4 hours at least. or put on 2 1/2" wheels.
