RE: JMGlasscraft Penetrator
It must be pretty light, it looks like there is wood inlaid along the aft end of the fuselage. The hardest part about working tiny molds is keeping track of how much cloth you've got laid down every where.
The inlaid C/F in the wing is pre-preg strips? Is this the only re-enforcement? I'm pretty sure I see tiered layers of C/F in a groove you sanded into the balsa skin? The plane does look big enough to haul a .15.

Can't wait for warmer weather... Been relegated back to electrics for the last few months. Wanna start carving props for the little guy!

Rog,
Thanks - John did a really nice job on his plugs. And his glass work is nice and light but reinforced where it counts.
Gabe,
John at JM Glasscraft can be reached at 586-773-7069. I believe he has wing cores (kits) for both models.
CP,
Yeah it is a bit of a challenge anymore[:@]
Even the glow clubs/fields are starting to have decibel limits. At those fields, typically I wait till later as the wind picks up a bit and everyone goes home If I'm the only one left at the field and wearing earplugs and headphones and not more than 96decibels hit my ears it must meet club rules, eh?. Nice that they are concerned about my hearing
Or I fly with some speed guys at NASA AMES Moffet field who explore the higher limits of our models in the interest of aeronautical research.
Skaliwag, You will get your turn - I still think a throttled TD .020 with the 3 bladed prop in one of the micros would be "just about right".

Actually, it's a late Xmas present from John....
PeeWee Penetrator with one of my Gmark .03R/C's in it.. HS55's on aileron and elevator and an HS50 on throttle. Will use a balloon tank thanks to PTUlmer, airfoil is similar to an RG14 with a little fatter bottom. []He's been working on it slowly as all you Killjoys keep taking up his time with kit orders![:@][X(][X(]
Couldn't stand it... It's been too cold to fly any glow for the last few months. I braved it this weekend and flew my .010 modified microshark in 23 degree weather... After getting a flight in on my brushless 050 fan motor powered Sliver I went about prepping the .010 to Commit Aviation. Surprisingly, it started easily but I don't use a power switch for the RX and not dropping the wing screws is a challenge on a normal day. By the time I landed it my hands were truly in pain from the cold. They still hurt..
But it was totally worth it.
Speaking of PeeWee Penetrators, I have one with a VA in it that I have to maiden. Need a place to do it-I only fly out of schoolyards. I keep AMA for fly-ins and races but my type of modeling doesn't fit in with most club cultures. Have a bunch of planes that need a proper field to fly.[]

The Micro Estreleta was next.......
The little cox seemed true to the "old times".
wouldn't start.
ran great on the stand.....
It would run out a prime but must have some castor blobs in the venturi
Not having my ol trusty cox wrench with me decided to leave well enough alone and pick up the next plane in the fleet to send up.
The gear is for static display and wheelpants still need painted out red.
