Quite a while back, Lanier used to make something I think was called a "Dominator 200". It was basically a Quickie 500 scaled for 1/2A. Simple, box fuse, hershy bar wing, normal tail, etc. I'm looking to make something similar to fly for fun and show just what 1/2A planes can do.

Does anyone have a set of plans or, even some measurements (span, chord, and fuse length) should be more than adequate. Only other measurement that would help might be the wing thickness.

This is not the Dominator, but is similar and will get you where you need to go. It was designed by one of the regular posters (since inactive) of the forum and many of us have built this plane or variations. You can reshape the rudder, stab and wingtips to suit your tastes --- the build is simple and the plane is quick.

Do a forum search for DNU --- there are lots of posts and comments about this little plane.

Ace Simple 400 (coverted from electric) or a Morris Hobbies Yellow Jacket are two choices. Are you wanting to scratch build or do a kit?

I can recommend the Yellow Jacket, it is a very nice flyer and a perfect match for the Norvel .061 RC. With a total weight around 10oz, it has the performance to do large loops etc and really behaves like a larger plane, except it disappears much quicker out of sight

Franklin, Check out the DNU as stated by Andrew up top. I fly a standard version and a cut back version with thinner airfoil and shorter wing. Here is a picture of the 2 side by side for reference.

Attached is a photo of the plan.
This is a small model with a very strong wing.
I chose to use rubber bands rather than bolts to hold the wing on.

Wing bolts are usually a much better, gives you a no worry solution. The wing never has to come off anyway on these small planes, just put a charging cable for the battery.

With rubber bands you have to use several of them, and make sure that they are fresh. At high g-forces there is always the risk of the wing moving a little and giving you a sudden change of angles...

True, but if they take a hard knock, something breaks.

There would be an alignment dowel up front at the LE, so it's not going to move.

I still haven't decided on what engine to use. The MP D , or Cox .049, would be ok with rubber bands, but for the Webra 1.8 speedy, maybe bolts all the way around.

Still slowly working on this. Have taken above suggestion not to use rubber bands. Dowels at the front of wing, and a steel bolt at the rear.
Wing will use 2 servos. Ailerons will also act as flaps.

Parra is an unfamiliar name that I just recently started hearing about.

Parra has 1.5cc (.09) and 2.5cc (0.15) diesel and glow engines. Metal, AAC or ABC piston/liners, your choice.
