What's that carb? G-Mark?
Hmm.. looks like the NV is superfluous metal after about the first .050" wide knurled bit on outwards. I have a tiny carb on an .03 diesel.. I swear the NV is 40% of the weight of the whole assembly.

The all up weight is ok compared to the Pee Wee that only gives 2 mins run time with the stock tank and no throttle.
It is a G-Mark .03 carb the G-Mark .03 is heavy! 43g compared to what I have here. I have 2 mint engines one was
ran up thirsty hot things but idles well and throttles well. I had bought these cheap on ebay. The needle is fine thread
solid steel 1.8g on its own. I have two of the G-Mark .060 and its the same NV but the barrel and carb body is smaller.
I had bought the second one just to do mods like this with the small carb. Would be nice to source small carb assembles
this was the only way to get one. I will do up a simple U shape aluminum back plate, can shorten the stem about 1/4th in.
if I want to tuck in the carb body closer to the back of the engine. Cox sure start has a L shape intake as an example, could
do the same to keep things tucked up close. I would rather have the straight shot as shown for better air fuel flow.
Shown with the carbon 3030 the throttle could be set up to swing a 4.5x2 for thrust on a fun fly plane where close up flying
and stunting around with better throttle control would be desired. Will bench test and post the results. I cut off the choked
down portion of the stem and flared it out a bit to help draw more air/fuel should put out more power than a Pee Wee now.
I also have some of those small mufflers which really would be great to tap for pressure for stunt flying is in the works.
I ran up the Pee Wee last night with a stock E-flite 3.75x3 gave an impressive static of 26,300 rpm.
Here shown with the stock Cox 4.5x2 and rotated the needle straight up for easy tuning. Should make
really good thrust with this prop and idle to a purr. Will use one of my new 10cc tanks small narrow
light weight and 10mins + run time using throttle. Could do a carbon tube stick type fun fly with a fat
airfoil for flopping / floating around.

Thank you gents will be firing it up after dinner here, if it throttles well and puts out
more rpm then a Pee Wee I will be happy. Yes the .049 reedie could be modified
the exact same way and should turn a simple engine into something more useful.
The aluminum standoff bracket should help as a heat sink wicking away to help
keep the air / fuel cool going in. Will vid the effort.

You could make up something like this one for the .049. It is like the old Ace one. http://coxengines.ca/throttle-for-co...bee-style.html It would not require ruining the tank. My flying bud drilled out the bore in the tank to 1/8" and used a TD needle which luckily was a press fit. It went quite fast with a TD cylinder and high nitro on a bladder. I will likely try one out soon. It only needs a slot in the tank, and still uses the backplate. I have a tank with a hole already drilled in the tank from a flea fright guy.

Yes seen that one but don't like the small fuel tank Pee Wee only gets 2mins
with the stock prop if the NV is set just perfect. With throttle management
could stretch out the run time though.
Results it works! Engine is new lol really didn't make an effort to break it in
was in rush.
17,442 rpm / 4.5x2 stock black prop / 5.6oz thrust / .031hp / 23w
Idle down to 9k range I need to tweak the stop screw. Took a
vid but really not worth posting till I get the idle down to a tick.
So far so good!

So small and light I ended up ordering another set great for the TD .010.
The TD .020 may put too much load on the servos torque abilities.
If used with an electric motor I wouldnt go past 30w for speed use.
I have on order two HT versions that put out 7oz of torque the
version shown is good for around 3oz torque but can be set up
for more torque just by drilling a hole in the control horn closer
to the servo hub. I estimate 5oz with the minimal control throws
which is typical of the high speed NANO at 35% throw, moving the hole
closer to the hub will be a perfect solution. The new Dart at 2oz even at top
speeds shouldn't stress the servo out of its range. The servo is
stated to be 1.7g but I get 1.9g with the wire. The high torque version
is stated to be 2g. at 200g of torque .
Second pic for size comparison to whats in the NANO .010
HS 35HD Ultra NANO / 11oz torque.

Lol the camera at 30 fps doesn't get to many frames when it passes in front. With
out the stock prop and solid spinner nut is 20.8g The E-flite prop and short bolt will help
to reduce weight. Tracking shows the battery will be in the mail box today will be able
to cut the fuselage parts and start the build perhaps have it test flown next weekend.
Switch is in Houston and might make it in the mail by this week. I have everything to
complete the plane. Sat. I get a weather break and can test the two current planes.
Carbon 3030 for the Lil Speedy hope to bust 100mph. E-fite 2.7 x 3N the most narrow
to date for the NANO should be great thrust with similar rpm. Did you ever send
the spare parts to Mike for the aluminum engine mount?

The 5 switches came in the mail .3g whew and as small as expected finaly the perfect switch for micro planes. The switch next to it is 1.3g the wire was not on the scale. Big difference in weight
and size and is what the NANO has been flying around.
The battery is not what I had hoped for, its thick and 5.5g old tech!!
I have a new tech 250mah cell thinner and only 5.4g I will have to order again and watch the thickness which tells the tale. The new tech is only 3g ish, I went with a vender in my state to speed things up argggg the battery appeared to be the same per flat view. Could use it but going for weight perfection on this next build.

Ok doing some research I have a 60mah 1.7g battery which should be good
for 4 flights with spare mah for buffer. 57g to work with to keep the plane at 2oz
20.6g for all the primary gear leaving me 34.6g to work with.
Opps left tank out +2.6g / 23.2g / Left to work with 33.8g

NANO 2.7x3N test prop sitting on the new template for the next generation 2oz TD .010.
The next gen props will start at 2.2 x 3 with 44k + unloading.

Ok went out and tested the Lil Speedy
Carbon 3x3
Best Static 30,684 / 87.2 mph
Static at launch 29,985 rpm best pass 37,304 rpm 106 mph screamer but weak on thrust if the engine goes on the NANO the thrust would be ok.
Rpm should jump up to around 39k + 112 mph with unlimited vertical.
Needle was a bit difficult it took the 3rd flight to get it close to the money
The first two flights would rich'n up once I let it rip.
Modified E-flite 3.5x3.5
Best static 24,644 rpm / 82 mph / thrust was better with this prop the sucker was ripping
Best pass 30,742 rpm /102 mph solid spanking sky
Most passes hit at least 29k + and 20% busted 30k.
The square tips can be rounded and do a bit more of a back cut on the E-flite and nudge
it up perhaps to 115 mph
At 40k+ with the NANO the TD .020 seemed low on rpm till I watched the vid... during the flight
I was commenting on lack of rpm lol already yearning for more scream.
Squeaked out 6 flights in all with the Lil Speedy and was getting too hot today I bailed on the NANO test.
It was 84 F 6 to 10 mph winds.
On a side note for just 2.7g you can buy a booster less battery now. Made for lipo input or esc with 1S lipo will boost over all voltage to 5v. 1A to 1.5A max. I went ahead and bought one to try out. You can put a switch in between the battery and step up regulator to avoid drain when not in use and to isolate for charging. Very small I plan to use heat shrink to protect. Don't need the signal to use 1S lipo direct only if for an esc.

The first one I bought was the Smart Lipo / 250mah version the board is the same size used with the 500mah version. Board is 20mm x30mm
I recall you having one of the 500mah ones. The thing is the board is twice the size of this one shown. So your saying you have some of these small inline types now?
Here is another Size & Weight: 27x15x3mm,2g you have to add your own wires bit bigger board.

Lil Speedy TD .020 best speeds to date.
Doppler Readings - Carbon 3030 best pass 106.48 mph
taken at 3:08. Low thrust was only good for speed passes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7zAyzAawQg
Per Doppler E-flite 3.5x3.5 best pass 105.12 mph
This one beat prop calc by 3mph. Taken at 4:29.
This one has potential thrust was reasonable so
reworked the prop -more back cut and tips rounded.
