Ply Rolled Fuselage Part Deux - 1/2A " Mini Skorch "

The pipe is likely holding it back, or the timing of the bypasses for that rpm, 5.5 - 5" sounds like a good place to start. I am still on XP. and can't use the latest flashplayer. Can't get Vimeo at all.

I am using Chrome with XP, looking at upgrading to windows 7 32bit version will milk the
computer along for a few years more. Software disk is cheaper than a new comp. You loose
all your old prefs etc. though. I think I may move this existing hard drive in the secondary bay
and buy a new hard drive to upload Win 7. Hard drives are cheap these days 500G is not much.
As I understand it YouTube does not use flash anymore they have converted to a new format.
YouTube videos will play using HTML5 in supported browsers
[h=3]Supported Browsers[/h]Many browsers support both the video element in HTML5 and either the H.264 video codec or the WebM format. These include:
I have so much on this comp. its hard to give in
to another new one but the time is coming. I use a modern large screen tablet 11.5in
great for surfing the net and watching vids. However I should have got a bit more screen
perhaps 15in would have been a better choice when watching some folks vids the plane
can be far off most of the flight.

My old computer had XP and Chrome, but I guess I cleaned it too hard, and had to get another one from one of the kids (middle aged). It would not take Chrome so it is Firefox. The laptop is windows 7. It is trying to force windows 10 on me. I think illegally. I have watched the video on the laptop. I will see if the kid can get the HTML 5 going.

Went to Win 10 at work as it was a free upgrade. The free bit expired July 29th.
32bit is the issue with XP on my comp and limits it to Win 7 as Win 8 jumps to 64 bit only as
I recall.

Check out this Picco PZero .05 ripping up some water
It is the 2nd documented vid of a 1/2A size outrigger
spanking some water!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEKjR0_JjpA Published on Sep 24, 2015
Saint-Savinien SAW 20/09/2015.
Here is some data taken with my audio tach:
Picco P-0 / .0519 Cu. In. /.85cc
33k + average
Best 36,014 rpm
Best 44.7k no load
Possible 48mph best pass. Octura X427 was used modified for speed.
Maxi plans to use a 1930 cut down should get the rigger up near 60 mph.
Will be testing one of my Picco's on the DART

Yes lil micro screamer great for small ponds. I have ordered some parts to build a rigger.
Micro aluminum rudder and strut, flex cable, flywheel and coupler. A header pipe to run
the tuned pipe to the rear of the outrigger. Enough gear to start construction.

Update some parts came in
My version should have more top end torque with a full wave pipe.
1.6 in. P x 24mm D at 40k unloaded 61 mph
1.9 x 22 / 40k / 72 mph
Rendering is modern conventional may go with even more long and lanky
for best top end stability as every bobble scrubs off speed.
Lanky speedy
Advanced aerodynamic speedy

The indoor models get bigger, the outdoor models get smaller - something is backwards here, I like it.
Holy crap that's a big indoor lekkie!
Yeah I know it's a painful crawl, but the Scat Cat is almost there.. I did a real weigh-in last night, i.e. linkages/parts thereof, the real battery etc., and saw 71g / 2.5oz. Gotta solder the servo leads in and squeeze the rx in there, and finish the aileron linkages. It's a PITA but I have the pushrods running rearward to an internal servo, for wing removal I pull the servo hatch and unscrew the servo arm. Whatever, it's not a Sig Kadet..

Amazing the Horten has retracts to boot most impressive beasts for indoor ultra slow fly.
Sounds like perhaps a real test flight is around the corner MIKE!! I do hope the winds are less than
8 mph will help you trim it up with less fuss and of course vid vid vid LOL

FYI been building der boat n floater..
Will be a good test bed for one of my spare Vertigo .07 and the Sirio .09
All these are similar in size and will fit the out rigger. Good for speeds
from 50 to 90 ish mph with the .09.

Cool, a speed pusher. That's the smallest prop I've ever seen on an .05. Looks like a Kline-Fogelman airfoil on the canard, what are you using on the wing?
Looking forward to the (boat) video.

Yes lifting tub as called for outrigger hydro's also helps to blanket the engine, I may shroud the
cooling coils. Out on the water it will just look like an exposed cylinder for eye candy I imagine.
The lifting tub may cause it to fly off the water, there will be a blanket of compressed air under
the tub which should make it glide like on ice.
The sponsons are innovative and a first to be seen online a larger outrigger would require running
the second support to the back boom. The concept allows a very large stance for a very stable forward
platform providing a huge stance at minimal weight penalty to go faster than typical.
Once you break past 80 mph things happen very fast on the water. If it hits a floating stick or twig or
trash the broad stance should help keep it upright and nimble. I use a fishing pole to cast out and
retrieve should it stall or flip.

I'm a wanna-be boat jockey, I have one and it needs me to go out this fall and learn how to run it. It's a Sprint Cat .21 with a... gee take a guess.. OPS .45 inboard. Got it used in nice shape and ran it a couple of times but the water had sludge and kept fouling the prop and cooling inlet etc..

When I go out to run a boat I check the wind and set up on the bank that has the wind hitting my back insures all the floating crap is on the other side or on its way there lol..

Bummer airboat pond at best... time to fly your TD .010
This sucker needs clean water for sure 10.8mm deck height
will compress air and boil some water.
Float tested no leaks and sits well.. almost ready to test.
Dr. Sam on International Waters made a P-Zero 1/2A Rigger here is his effort:

X430 prop best pass 38,436 rpm
1 oz fuel tank

Outrigger - Picco .85cc /.0519ci / Profi Tuned Pipe 44,412 rpm
Original designed outrigger hydro for Picco P-Zero
On the end of the 3rd tank I was able to lean it out enough
to get a idea of the top end still rich but on the pipe
should do about 46k no load once the needle is set.
30% nitro 18% castor Will post a maiden launch vid
perhaps next weekend.

Thank you Mike, it has been a fun journey to this point for yet another 1/2A application.
Yes it is an adrenalin rush for sure, the speed on the water with the outrigger
style platform can reach peak speeds no other hull type can. It's mostly 2 dimensional
running, the design, building and setup for all out heart thumping water ripping is the 3rd.

1st Run - Picco P-Zero Outrigger Hydro Profi Tuned Pipe
.85cc / .05 ci / 1/2A car engine converted for boat use.
Very stable, needle valve set a bit rich, need to lower
the strut a bit, tracks very well. Will do another vid after
I start tweaking the setup. Stock X427 / 20% castor 30% Nitro.
Plenty of room for improvement yet for a first run this went
rather well, the last few laps started picking up the pace
for such a small 1/2A engine it's amazing how well it moves
this size rigger.

Hi Alan, good to hear from you how was your summer?
This is the first North America running 1/2A outrigger actually documented on YouTube.
Now the 3rd Picco P-Zero rigger project on the water. One from France, Australia and USA.
Perhaps one out of Canada next??
Yes he was a good boy didn't munch on my rigger he followed me down the
road at the entrance gate to the boat club. His owner allows us to use the
lake, family property for over 100 yrs. After I ran the boat the dog jumped
in the water and swam around for a bit, then stood in it close to the shore
just enjoying his day in the water.
