Default more static thrust

I need more static thrust. I have an air boat that will not go over large algae patches. the motor is a electrifly T400. prop is 5.5x4. rpm is11500.
I know I am in the wrong section but I fiquered this is the best place to get an answer. Thanks, Don

Thanks for the suggestion. I can not get a 6.5 " in. I would l have to modify the motor mount remove most of the prop cage to get a 6.5" in. I may be able to get a 6" in but I would still have to make a few modes.
Are the APC's better than the Airscrew? Thanks; Don

Try a Norvel .074 RC, they do great on the APC 6.3x4 prop and should give you about 17000rpm.

Mr COX he has an ELECTRIC boat.............................................. ..............

try an APC 5.7x3 prop and add one cell to the lipo pack. that will get you the power you need. Get rid of that 4" pitch prop as its to much.

Go with a 3 blade prop which is fitting for a air boat and keep the volts the same assuming your on 2S due to 11.5k rpm. If run time has been good.
Is it a pusher or a tractor set up?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tornado-3-bl...#ht_135wt_1260

If you buy the above prop it will last a life time. 5 x3

Air Raptors idea will work fine but air boats draw more amps on the water then in the air 3S may twang the esc depending what you have on board. It will make for a fast boat. 35 - 45 mph.

I am mostly cocerned about thrust. The pond I go to has a lot of algae and I would like to be able to run over it.
It is a 2s lipo. I will look into the 3 blade and the5.7.
The ESC is combined with the rx (alligator tours air boat) so i do not think it will take a 3s lipo. The motor is slightly hotter than the stock motor so I do not think I can get much more out of it . Maybe time for a bigger air boat or brushless. Thanks, don

aaaahhwa no brushless??? Thats the main issue. Get the cheap $2.50 prop for now to keep you going till you can obtain a 400 class brushless motor and 2S to 3S 40A esc.

Yes, I saw that, the best remedy for that problem would be a Norvel engine.

Thanks eveyrone. I found some on line calculators for thrust and the bottom line is a bigger prop and less pitch. I could go brushless but with the room for a prop that i have it would have to turn much higher rpms. I have never ballanced a prop until a few day ago and I'm not sure my skill lever could produce a prop that would turn 20,000 rpm with little vibration.
Thanks again; Don

The APC props are very good out of the box. My mistake also in assuming you had a brushless motor. i will look up a good combo for electric motor and speed control for you that is a decent price and will give you the power you need.

28mm motor http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html 20 dollars

50 amp boat sped control water cooled http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html 22 dollars

3cell 1800 Mah battery http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html 23 dollars

I know this is almost same price as the boat but will give a large jump in speed, maybe to much. run this combo on the APC5.7x3 glow prop. should give you around 23 ounces of thrust which is about twice what that little 380 motor is doing. you can look on ebay for used motor and speed controls also and save even more.

What you want is a 28mm in dia motor that is less than 45mm long and no more than 2800Kv
