I still check in. My SkiniWag build thread is stalled due to me recovering from melanoma brain tumor removal on last Monday.

Dang Hollis, Hate to hear you are having some problems. Good to see you are able to log in.
Bob,
I haven't been in RCU for almost a year or so since the crummy upgrade but just recently popped in to plug the Speed Rally.
I talk to Ramone on the phone every now and again.
I took my QuickShot to the rally but didn't fly it. I was busy enough with my other problem children to mess with the little guy. I was trying to break 125 if you can imagine me having trouble with that.

Glad to hear from you Vic!! I've been traveling so much have not done much flying. Building 2 Q40 models as well as a few Whambops! How was the speed rally? You had to have some great weather!!!

Hollis good to hear from you. Hope for a speedy recovery!!

Anyone heard from Rog?, Fireman? The rest of the guys?

I was considering having another 1/2A flying next year at Old Julian Field. Just checking to see if anyone is still interested in the small stuff!!

Bob

Yeah, work and growing kids have been a bit of a distraction for me. Nevermind restoring a few old motorcycles.
I haven't made a race in two seasons but keep messing with the quickies. My last one didn't turn out too good and got retired this weekend. Every now and then I hear from Rog but it's been a while. Other than Raoul I haven't kept up with the crew.
I'm game for a day of 1/2A at OJA

Great to see everyone chime in. I have been busy with my 4 growing kids (oldest now 14)... but we are still around and flying. Would love to have a 1/2A race, or similar, at OJA!

Rainedav (David Wood) recently moved up to Richmond, VA to kind of get a fresh start on life. He was caretaking for his mother and father in their home until they passed away recently. I have his email address if anyone would like to contact him.

Anyone heard from Dan (aka Deadstik)?

Hollis - Glad you are recovering - our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I have a treatment plan in place that has a great prognosis. I will be out of work at least a few more weeks. Hopefully I'll have the energy back to finish up the SkiniWag project shortly. Hollis

I wondered if Spence was old enough to drive. Wow, time is going by fast.

Not too much longer and my Nathan will be driving

the problem is the donor is too nice to be a donor bike?
I had the same dilemma with this one. I decided to just restore it.

Dear Sirs and/or Madams,

I wish to inform youse-all that even though it takes a great deal of my remaining energy to poke on these keys at this late hour this evening, I have chosen to do so in order that this small group from among my many, many fans and followers and acolytes may take pleasure the following words . . .
1. I have been unable to retain my boyish figure. But youse'll be thrilled to know that my mind remains. That is, I can think pretty gud.
2. I still play with model airplanes once in a while (my club is having trouble). Little electrics I confess, although I give my liddle TDs a loving caress fairly regularly. I'd like to get back to a little building after Christmas. Maybe one of the Standard classics
3. I have added a few R/C sailboats to my active list. A different set of skills - and associated people - competitive but not combative.
4. I have developed an interest in amateur radio and have become active in the local Ham club.
5. Send a self-addressed, AND stamped envelope for forms and costs of my various offerings that include (but are not limited to); Actual autographs, a short story of my life, 8x10 glossies. Ah heck, I'll give youse-guys a 10% discount for a limited time.

It's heartening to know that Raymond, even in his advanced years, has been able to retain and express his self-admiration. I will confess that I miss his posts -- prose is a lost art among most of the youth today; it's good to see a nicely turned word.

Dear Sirs and/or Madams,
Ugnhh, there goes the thread.

Thanks for the compliment Andrew. It's a 71 K1 one owner. I pulled it out of a shed...with the descendant's permission of course. Hasn't been fired since 78.

Raymond....I know of a "deprogrammer" on a remote ranch in Utah who could get you back on the straight and narrow path.

I feel that is incontinent upon me to correct a few mis-corruptions posted by some of youse-all in the previous (sea above) commentaries that preceded the following true and accurate depiction of just a few of the too-numerous-to-count wonderfulness’s that is me . . .

First regarding the need for “deprogramming” as suggested by that West Coast argumentative person; I was one of the “de programmers” (aka coders) in the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Army in Deutschland back in ’62 - and they didn’t even make a dent ! Hah.

Andrew that’s; “self-realization” not “self-admiration”. I understand why you could confuse the two terms as “real” is a word very often in the same sentence with “get” and “Raymond”. However, don’t let it happen again.

Finally, that’s a cool photo of a manly motor cycle that Vic posted. He probably took it while sitting on his Vespa.

Well ladies and germs, I’m off to the “other” place now. Toodles.

How is it possible that the Carolina Crew hasn't charged this man yet with desertion..?
I'll bet his wife threw out ALL of his glow equipment, all his engines, gooey models, etc....and he barely has her permission to even post at this castor oil encrusted forum..!

I don't think his wife knows where all the stuff is hidden.
He just can't remember where it's at. Basically he is into the last thing he bought at the hobby shop since it's at the front of his "toy room".
Mentally it works out ok we get a 241 discount.
