BTW re RC flying - if you have RC airplanes, but you don't bring them, you're not allowed. All flying is encouraged - it is a private field, we have it all to ourselves. I'll keep you posted on Saturday. So long as nobody complains about using your thread as a substitute for e-mail, I think we're all good. It's about flying anyways, who cares.

Hi Mike,
Awesome! I'll get Dad to charge up his small (~1/2A) scratch built electric stick and tissue jobs...

I mentioned to him that you had a pulsejet plane to test fly...
Just wait till you hear his V-1 stories as a kid in London !

Looking forward to it...
Keep posting any details here...

Cheers,

Dan - pilot - confirmed he's cool with Saturday. Naturally, we all have to keep an eye on the forecast. Long range is 30% POP. Generally that might mean nothing or a shower here or there. If the short range forecast later this week suggests Sunday is the good day - are you and your dad flexible? Always good to consider a rain day.

I'd love to hear them. My big brother was an infant with my mum in London at the time, she remembered the V-1's all too well.

We of course need to monitor the weather forecasts. If Saturday turned out crappy, would you be able to switch to Sunday? So far the forecast is 30% POP, which doesn't worry me much.

Cross Check, are those WW1 planes from Johnny G? I always thought I should try one of those kits. Wish I lived a bit closer, and could watch the jet go. I used to be in Waterloo, and it would be no prob. Got the Dresden control line combat and LA .25 races this weekend. Hoping for no rain too.

Weather forecast for Saturday is improving.

Dave - we'll fly the Toucan Saturday.. finally get those speed runs in. This might be a good opp to bring out the OPS .67 Demon too.

I'll have the Mini Contender / Magnum .15 there, it's past the checkout and is part of the regular stable. I put a 700mAh Zippy Life in it, what a joke.. after three nice flights one evening, the input mAh was about 185 on recharge. I'll never want to fly it so many times in a day the Rx battery will get low..

Hi aspeed,
Dresden is on my want to do list, have fun with everyone !. (I've lap counted the BB 100 mile race twice, got all the stuff to build a plane, just need time to do it...You want to pit? or pilot?... when I get it built !) I've got my BW.049 CL 'Piranna' ready to fly for Saturday. It will be light winds. What 'spider fishing line' do I look for to repace the old 30ft dacron stuff? I'd like to increase line length. Making lines up is way easier than farting around with which computer radio does what, which?

Hi Mike,
I can drop off my LCBO load Saturday in Orangeville 10AM. (11AM Sunday), then go from there. What time and where from there?
Dad is stoked ! Working on his .010 and .020 sized Buzzard Bombshells...(way overpowered with the elecric gear) Perfect weather to trim them out...
This will be Fun!
The Radar Gun has gone missing from the club shed. Unfortunatly, Doah !
Fresh fuel, cycled batteries, Fast and slow planes...
What could be more fun?

Take care,
Have Fun,
Dave'crosscheck'Fallowfield

15km west of Orangeville on cty rd 109 (Broadway), past Trafalgar Road and the bridge over the Grand River, then turn left/south on the next concession road west - the 13th.

Our shop is the first building on the left, the shed not barn.

Cross Check. Sure, I can fly for you. It would be better than my pitting. I normally just go to Dresden, as Toronto is 4 hours for me. Do you have a shutoff planned? If not, make sure your tank is not too big. I think 80 laps, and come down once. A shutoff is best. For 1/2A lines I found this discussion. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/cont...-cl-lines.html Looks like the 20 lb. is the stuff.

Hi All,
Work is done, a pleasant eve ahead going over the planes and test firing them up, and loading the van.
Mike,
I'll find the field no problems. Can get there~10:30 or so, gotta hit the CrappyTire for some 20 test spider wire fishing line. ( thanks aspeed ! Learn what's new at Dresden, and we can go from there! )
What time is good to show up?

Back to 5 slimers, Dads leckis are ready to load...
All SMALL !

Cheers,

We plan to be there by 10am, so just come. Pull up to the first building on the left, the log shop building versus barn. You'll see us..

We rent the shop/hangar, there is a guy lining in the farmhouse.. but fear not, he is an aviation mechanic and has his own aircraft in the barn beside, and highly approves of all things flying.

Check your PM's - I'll put my phone numbers there.

Glad you're coming up, should be a fun day. I almost got the Virus done but the receiver and remote antenna mounting will take me a couple of evenings yet.

Hi All,
It has been a week since the last post, and What a Week !
Just relaxing after a NW 15hr tour delivering our wares for the LongWeekend.
And no kidding, my last stop was Grand Valley. next to 'theAerodome'
What a Day Flying ! Friggin Awesome!
My eyes need rest, to computer now.
Plan is to tell the stories, while waiting for glue to dry building the Go-Fer...
And how all the flights last weekend, influenced the final Go-Fer design...
Cheers,
Crosscheck

Hi All,
That was a Fantastic Day flying with Mike !
Too many airplanes, it was like a shmogasbord of Small, 1/2A... (Firing up a full scale TigerMoth might have got us over the SMALL limit though !)
My 85yr old Dad and I had the Best flying day ever... It was, by far, the Best !

Best Luck on your upcoming surgury Mike...
PM me your e-mail... Dad has some cool aerial photos taken from Maralyn, and others...
I'm in no hurry to get the Go-Fer done...
But, I know who I want to 'needle' hand launch it...
Letting that Toucan 'squirt' out of my hand was friggin Awesome !

I'd like to thank RCU 1/2Aers here too,
Cool projects, are Cool projects,
Untill, you get them done.
Cheers,
Dave'crosscheck'Fallowfield
