I was going to shoot some helmet cam video of it, but I thought a 24" span model zipping around is going to look like a flying pixel. But I'll do it next time out. This model has survived two terminal dives into snow (one Rx failure fatigued antenna lead, one pilot looking straight up into the sun just as my right foot broke through the crust of snow and I fell over). Now that it is summer and the ground is less forgiving, I'm trying to avoid such things.

I first used a PeeWee with a homemade exhaust throttle but it was very fiddly on the needle and didn't like larger props than the stock one. So the best match was to use a newer PeeWee with diesel conversion. It now spins a 6x3 prop at around 10krpm and will finish the tank on each run. It now sounds so much better than the stock prop at +15krpm too.

Mike I have seen those on Ebay cheap n easy great for a retro fit for some low stress fun.
Kris have you committed to cutting in to that cowl yet?
Per post #73 I saw a muffler out the bottom any vid of it yet?
Yea diesel has a more scale sound for sure, too bad there are
no micro size 4 stroke engines available for the smaller planes.
I have a few throttle sleeves for the .020 they work great, perhaps
you can add throttle next

It's almost sinful how well the TD .020 version flies compared to some carefully crafted dedicated designs. Typical flight is a minute and a bit of aerobatics and horsing around, then speck it out and look for lift after cutout.

Yeah there you go. My first instinct on all foam hand toss things is to see how much negative incidence is built in the stab and trim that to a reasonable level. That thing looks pretty similar in size to mine.

Problem was that it was very sensitive to the needle and didn't run out the tank, plus the small stock prop which didn't seem right for the plane...
The diesel conversion was a quick fix that I meant to do properly at some point. I don't think that exhaust throttling works well on diesel, so I got a helicopter backplate that I wanted to put a throttle into (g-mark carb), but then got sidetracked with other projects...

Haven't flown yet. We had two maintenance related cancellations and then I got sick with Bronchitis the week I was schedule to fly. Currently rescheduled for first week of August. I'll be sure to debrief.
