Well, I'd Have to finish it first. I lost momentum sometime in early July. However there is hope.. I mixed up some white Hobbypoxy and shot the fuselage and hatches finally, yesterday afternoon.

That's great news I have been looking forward to some pics = )
When you fly it I dooo hope you have someone to vid for ya.
Nice grassy field will be best till you figure out not only the trims
and more so the throws. I banged mine up a bit learning what was best.
Lucky the design is small and light just a bit of thick grass is enough
to keep them safe. This time of year my field is more dirt and burned up
grass.

Just got back from a wedding and camping expedition..
..to find the hatches and fuse all nicely cured and glossy white. Need to shoot the nose with red, then trim and finish radio install. Shouldn't be long now. I'll test on the stock prop of course.
I'll have to post pics from work tomorrow as I am running on the iPad only at the moment due to a nasty virus on my laptop.
Another project I really want to get done this month and while the weather is great, is the bobcat 50 turbine conversion. It's moving along nicely, not much to it, but I am dubious about the strength of the tail booms and kind of stalled as I ponder how much extra work to do on them. Might peel the covering back to the fin root and glass the boom and base of the fin with some hopefully strategic reinforcement. I think the rest of the airframe is fine.

Nice Mike thank you for checking in, yes stock prop will yield a ton of thrust to help get the plane
up and away from the ground to give you a chance to trim it up safely. I am working on a
new project for dirt and rock landing as the grass is toast for the next 3 months.
Look forward to some pics... bummer on the virus!

Well, today was a Monday after a week off.. I didn't have a bloody second to reduce and post those pics, but I'll get them up tomorrow.
I stuffed all the gear in the fuselage, all up weight minus linkages is 69g / 2.4oz. So I think 2.6oz at the worst. Liking that!

My first version hit 3oz RTF yours should jam on a stock prop 42k+ possible
Best pass with a stock prop: 41,985 rpm

I have a bike helmet + GoPro mount all set. I should use it more..
Hope my wing is stiff enough but I think so, the torsional stiffness is good on the half-span when mounted, and not bad on the whole wing loose.

Finally, I goofed off a few minutes and sized down the pics. I included a sighting of a rare tropical bird, it was hanging out in our mock orange bush the other day.. CP knows the breed I think. It kept singing "fly me, fly me.." in a high, piercing kind of wail.
I included metric and Imperial photos of the scale.

Nice pics, rounding the front up should pay off on the top end.
Lol Mike, that Toooocando needs some helmet cam time yep yep!!
Your finishing method has paid off much lighter than imagined that's all the gear switch and all?
Perhaps heat shrink film would have made the wing a bit more stout. Time to fly that sucker summer is now
I had to use the smallest gear to pull off a 2oz Nano II.
All Ply fuselage and monocote could have been swapped out for a possible 1.7oz RTF.
My flying field is rough in the summer the extra beef has kept it together, if plush grass
all balsa plane would be in order. 1 gram is mucho weight with these size planes.
Truly cutting edge micro IC / RC action.

NANO II - Trim Flight 2.7x3N Prop / 2.2oz RTF / 35% nitro
Best pass vid 2 was 41.5k 118 MPH
Best pass this vid 39,244 rpm 112 MPH
I have not tested a 2.5 x 4 yet the DART project
has consumed my flying field time.

The flying surfaces are:
Wing LE wrapped in light CF tissue
Spun polyester surface mount hinges
Covered in Microlite film
The fuse is nitrate/sanding sealer, some reinforcement (spun poly/nitrate, spun poly/CA on firewall), KlassKote white prime and paint.
Yeah if I KlassKoted the flying surfaces it might have got a bit porky.

The weather was perfect yesterday.. If only I was ready. I'm working on it (and two other models, there's the problem). I confess that some quality time was spent on the Baby Birdie wing this weekend - covered it in Midwest Microlon (spun polyester, like silk spun coverite without the coatings) and nitrate dope, it's toughened up big time and still light. Almost ready for primer.

I'm having withdrawal symptoms right now. Got a ransomware virus on the laptop about 8 weeks ago, so closed it up in disgust and left it. It's now at the local computer geek place getting dealt with.
So I have been unable to sit and doodle on AutoCAD, something I enjoy in my free time instead of actually building things.. it also means the laser cutter has been out of action. This is probably a good thing, as it prevents me from cutting parts for new projects, and forces attention to the existing endeavors..

I have had ransom ware about 3yrs ago devastating to loose all photos, music and vids.
I understand that some key logger codes have been recovered and a good comp
shop maybe able to save files. I paid my online anti hack team to recover the comp
remove virus they couldn't save the files though. Safe bet is all media should
be backed up on a external hard drive left disconnected when not saving. I had two
hard drives on my PC both attacked. Had I unpluged the second hard drive when
not in use could have saved that one another trick to do. Happened at work once
file showed as a pdf. came in the mail under a company email from a client. Once
your comp is hacked they steal your email name and use it to bait others. I opened
the pdf. allowed access to the net they auto down loaded more files to launch the
hack I was down within 12hrs.

.zip files are all the rage as virus carriers these days. When I shut my laptop down, it appeared that the icons of my AutoCAD files had not been altered. The word files certainly were. There is some hope, and I will know soon. I have more stake in the CAD files than anything else. This particular virus claimed that it used a 46 bit Russian military encryption code. Seems to me I need Commander Data to fix that s--t.

Holy progress Batman!
Yesterday I Gooped in the elevator servo.
Today at lunch made the elevator pushrod.
I'm exhausted..
Well there's two things off the last 10% list.

Video of the build? Things Sped Up - did they ever make that series? That's the kind of technology you'd need.
Yes I know the video of the test flight. It will happen…
