Skampy
I built this SKAMPY earlier this summer from plans I got on Outerzone. Flew it with the TD .020 last Tuesday at our club's monthly meeting. What a BLAST. It is very spritely. Instead of using the attached tank, I put a 3/8th oz Perfect Wedge Tank behind the firewall. It gives me about 7 minutes in the air. I had all the guys laughing and cheering. I don't think ANY of them have flown 1/2a in 30 years and very likely had never seen a TD .020 run - at least not in this century. I will need to adjust the CG, though. It was a bit nose heavy.

Very, very nice!!! You've executed an excellent build.
Owen Kampen was a major contributor of 1/2A designs over the years. I remember when the Skampy originally came out, as a pullout I think. I always liked the lines of the little plane.

Very beautiful styling, 049flyer! How did the Pee Wee pull it? The TD works very well but I only have one of them and a lot of Pee Wees - like 10 or 11 of them.

Exocet:
Thanks for the kind words.
The Pee Wee pulls it great. Almost overpowered for single channel. The only problem is the Pee Wee tank is a pretty short engine run, maybe 3 minutes. Time enough for a good climb and a few aerobatics and then a nice glide. I believe mine weighs about 5 oz ready to fly.
Covered the wing with Doculam to save weight. Fuselage is painted with dope.

Nice plane, LittleRock! Mine weighs 5.4 oz and has elevator/rudder. Like yours, it comes down quickly once the engine quits. Its a fun plane to fly, though.

A friend( Terry Toup) had built one and when I was at his house one day he gave it to me to finish. I didn't have a single channel to put in it so stuffed 2 servos, a 5ch. Rx and 250mah battery in it from my Kraft sport series radio. It ended up with a Cox .049 from a plastic nasty modded with a TD top end, it would fly after a good heave and was ok after you let it get up some speed and altitude. A spin would take 3-4 turns after input to come out of it and start the pull up, landings were like the space shuttle after engine cut out. Lost it one day when it skipped off the top off a light pole in the San Diego stadium parking lot. I think I'll do one with modern light weight gear and a .5cc diesel that I have.
