Default OS 15 ? How good is it ?

I´m looking for a .15 engine, so I found an used OS .15 engine in the local e-bay at a good price and I want to know if it´s a good engine or I have to save my $$$ for better stuff. Thanks in advance.

I have several of them: OS.15FP - stout, dependable power AND very quiet. Older OS MAX 15 - Not sure what it's designation is but it's the one that has a baffled piston (loop scavenged) with strap on muffler. Strong runner, a little less power and somewhat noisier than the FP. It has an airbleed carb but idles well. Great little engines!

Matter of fact, I've accumulated and stored 2 extra of each of both types that will someday be on twin-engine aircraft.

I have a 10 year old .15 LA. Runs great. It sat for a few years and got gummed-up... cleaned up and it runs great again.

Well, it seems to be what I´m looking for. Reliable and easy to set up. Because I lost my patience very easily... but I recover it at the next day ha ha ha ...

My LA 15 in my Lazy Bee is a sweet sweet motor.... I wouldnt say so if it wasnt true!

I wouldny hesistate to buy another at all. Just dont pay too much for a used engine...

AJ: No signs yet. I asked at the PO and they told me that the package goes first to the Customs and then to the PO. I have to wait.

About the prices here an used OS .15 LA u$s 34 and a new .25 fp u$s 85 and a .46 fx new u$s 165. The price of the .15 is reasonable? ...

I think it's an LA. Was there a model before the LA that was ABC and bushing? I see it everyday but never look on the side. It has the neddle valve on the front. Wait, something is coming back to me... memory not completely failed... was there and FP line of budget OS engines?

IMHO, FP are the fathers of the LA ... FP engines were also bushing ones, but not made of plastic, and front needle valve. My first engine was an OS.20FP that I got when I was 11 years old !

Fantastic, not in terms of power, but in terms of reliability, predictability and user friendliness.
