Merry x mass, you small plane maniacs of tiny hands and huge glasses. Best of wishes for next year, may it be full of norvels and coxes, of hitecs and cirrusses.

I better get mine in here before the "cops" shut us down...
Please have yourselves a very happy and safe holiday, take some time to slow down (I know I will!) and relax, eat drink and be merry! I have made a lot of friends here on RCU, and you guys are really great. I hope 2004 treats us all to some excellent flying and building, and we continue to share ideas, have fun and "shoot the bull" on a daily basis...
All the best guys!!

YES ! ! !
A very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Felice Navidad, Joyeux Noel or whatever holiday fits in whatever language to any and all. And a very Happy New Year.
Be safe so you can all enjoy the Small Things in life here at RCU for the coming year and many more.
It's been a wonderful year of discovery for me and a great little family of modellers to share my intrests with. It's like having a club meeting to go to every night.

Merry Christmas
It's time for me to post my annual Christmas peom.
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the hangar
Not an engine was running, not even a four banger;
All the windsocks were hung by the workbench with care,
In the hopes that new model parts soon would be there;
The modellers were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of aircraft did loops in their heads;
And my wife dreaming quietly of new gardening things;
I laid there hoping for gifts that had wings.
When out on the lawn there arose such a noise,
Louder than the engines in my RC toys;
Away to the window I flew like a jet,
I couldn't run faster, not on a bet.
The house lights shining on the new fallen snow,
Made it look like a flyby, o'er the objects below;
When what to my wondering eyes should appear?
But a miniature aircraft. had I drunk to much beer?
It dashed and it danced and it pranced like a star,
Better than my planes, yes better by far;
Over the porch. then over the wall;
The plane kept on climbing. It just wouldn't stall.
I was amazed how it swept and flew through the sky,
That was a plane that I wanted to fly;
Up to the rooftop the airplane it flew,
Someone is flying it, someone, but who?
And then with a buzzing I heard on the roof,
Who could it be? I need some proof.
As I turned away from the window ledge,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with an Edge.
My eyes. how they bugged out! The plane was so sporty,
I could hardly believe he brought an Edge 540.
On the tail of the plane there was tied a big bow,
With everything installed it was ready to go.
He spoke not a word and went straight to his work,
I stood there drooling, and felt like a jerk;
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his airplane, and to me gave a laugh,
"You can fly it tomorrow just don't crash the aircraft",
But I heard him exclaim, ere he flew out of sight,
"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND CHARGE IT BEFORE FLIGHT!"

Merry Christmas everybody! Make sure your family and ESPECIALLY your kids have a very special Christmas to talk about and remember for years. They only have one childhood so make it as happy as possible! (Or they may grow up and be like Ebenezer Scroogelash)

Hey Dickey bird well put, but that should be Broke -Scrooge, cause my kid hit me up big time, and at 10 years old already wants me to build her a Hot Rod, for when she gets her licence.

Merry Christmas guys!
I too have to give out many thank you's to all of the people here that have helped me to finally get started actually FLYING R/C airplanes!! After many attempts at getting up and running with the .40 size equipment, who would have thought that a bunch of folks on an internet forum would have gotten me excited enough to build a 1/2a plane from a pile of balsa wood instead of going the ARF route? And, when I was finished, the darn thing actually flew!! And with a Cox engine no less!!! I don't think a beginner could have a better start than using this stuff!
So, I may have to pester you folks a lot more with many many more questions (I'm still working up the nerve to break in my Norvel .061 bigmig R/C I've had for years), but at least now I'm flying, and it literally wouldn't have happened without all the great posts I've read here and the replies to my posts..

RE: Merry Christmas Guys!!
Hi Lynn,
thanks for the welcome! I think Norton were up the road in Birmingham and Triumph were/are? near Coventry in a place called Meriden, not 100% sure as I've not been in these here parts that long . Jag are still in Coventry though. (I think all the bike factories were within about 20-30 miles of each other). I bypassed the bike phase and went straight from hurling model gliders about to flying full size gliders. Loads of born again bikers on the roads here at weekends though!
No TD 09 under the Christmas tree this year [] anyone get any good pressies?
cheers
Jon
